Okay the whole Vault over stuff idea is great but where is the practicality of jumping, i believe more free-running animations should be added we all see major zombies movies you have the humans running jumping and leaping off of stuff and other Parkour-ish type stuff i believe animations like this should be added, itd give snipers kinda a harder time to hit if a player is able to move like that in random animation style like that, also bones should be strengthend up quite a bit and get rid of the shocked moment when dropping 3feet and stopping you from moving its quite annoying. i believe bones shouldnt be broken unless u fall from like 13feet up not 5 and a half.

I don't think it should be to the extent of assasins creed 3 but free animations would be nice that and not having to stop to change a weapon

I wouldn't want any parkour to be put into the game purely under the fact that the game would be based on who can spam a dodge button faster, it would making sniping extremely hard to do. (Now I would support the ability to lean to the left or right for a moment as you're running to give a sort of dodgy bit to your head.)

The reason behind that. I play a few games like that and it turns into who is faster who has the bigger gun and who can shake a mouse.

I really really enjoy the intensity of the combat system in DayZ at the moment. I enjoy that its hard to get away from someone. If you try. (I don't enjoy that even in a hero skin everyone shoots at me)

I do agree that some smoother movements should be placed into the game but as far as Parkour is concerned I understand that stuff is possible but if everyone in the game had it. It wouldn't be very "great" or amusing.

Well a jumping animation would be alright, but you actually being able to do it should depend on how much your carrying, or the weight of your inventory when thats implemented.

i really didnt think of the fact that it would be that good if everyone had the ability maybe it should come with practice like the more you made your character practice the motions the better he/she got?

Parkour is hard as shit to do and takes alot of training and practice. Even vaulting over a fence would be hard to pull off with a shit ton of gear on your back

the fences you do vault over in dayZ are like a foot and a half high your player is around 5'7" soo its actually not that big of a Vault...

The idea of zombies originated from a movie, so what's wrong with basing suggestions for a zombie game by citing examples from the type of media that created them?

I agree. Although i'm not totally for parkour and such, i do agree that a jump animation should be placed in the game, and the falling mechanics should be fixed too.

Yes, SOME people do. Your average survivor cannot. And the people that do parkour, don't do it wearing 20+ pound backpacks and rifles. I dare you to try and get a noteworthy jump with that kind of equipment.

Because the movie is made for action, and DayZ isn't that same type of action. The movie stretches realism, whereas DayZ doesn't dare.

His idea is that you can do parkour-like movements, because people do them in movies, when in reality it is difficult to do and almost impossible in a zombie apocalypse where you are carrying backpacks and rifles.

I don't know about you, but I've managed to break something while falling from about a meter and a half in real life. It all depends on how you fall.
