rustyrocks69 0 Posted February 4, 2013 Things just got interesting with this app
skunkfu 46 Posted February 11, 2013 Hey chaps,This is a big one. I’ve completely rewritten the app from scratch. Loot and Vehicle locations for Chernarus, Fresh new theme, and a database upgrade to make it much faster to add new items! This will make things go much smoother when SA is released.I decided to just add Loot and Vehicle locations now and not wait for SA. So I can safely say this is the first app to incorporate them properly! Including iOS too? Happy days!I’ve changed Donate to Pro and added the locations within that. The reason for this is it took a crazy amount of time to do. We are taking over a thousand markers placed one at a time. Yeah.Really hope you enjoy this one :)
_Anubis_ (DayZ) 139 Posted February 11, 2013 Hi skunkfu,Just ordered the pro version. You did an awesome work and you deserve some reward, even a small one. Thanks for what you did for us._Anubis_

skunkfu 46 Posted March 7, 2013 Hey guys,v2.3 is out. It finally includes the Search function again! I had to remove this when upgrading the database in v2.0 (I got very confused with it) but I managed to work out a solution. And by popular request I've now included all Namalsk items within the database.Oh and I've also added a link to the new Skunkfu Support Forums within the Links section. I don't expect it to be used much, but we shall see how it goes.Cheers.
Target Practice (DayZ) 1335 Posted March 7, 2013 Cool. I downloaded this a few weeks ago, and it's handy to have next to the keyboard when navigating - great work so far, and it's appreciated! How are the personalised markers coming along? That's the one that I'm really looking forward to. :)

skunkfu 46 Posted March 7, 2013 Cool. I downloaded this a few weeks ago, and it's handy to have next to the keyboard when navigating - great work so far, and it's appreciated! How are the personalised markers coming along? That's the one that I'm really looking forward to. :)Hey Target,Glad you like it :)As stated before personalized markers are taken as an if/when approach. Since DZC is my first app ever, and embarrassingly being the newbie coder I am, it is a very challenging thing to do. Adding markers is easy, but saving them persistently is hard, as well as labeling them. Don't worry, I know it will be the ultimate feature of DZC, and I am working on this! It just might take a while to do.Cheers.
skunkfu 46 Posted March 17, 2013 Well, I spoke too soon. Waypoint markers have been added! This took a lot of sleepless nights (oh god, I still have flashbacks of them nightmares) but it was totally worth it.There are four markers for now. You can drag them about, save them, and give them a title. It is a very new feature, and I wouldn't be surprised if it is flaky on certain devices, so please let me know how it goes.Once I know the code is solid, then I’ll start looking at adding a share feature for each marker, then look at pushing the system to the community maps.Oh, and I've also removed the ads. :)Enjoy! _Anubis_ (DayZ) 139 Posted March 17, 2013 skunkfu,Would that be possible to make Loot & items (water, deer stands, supermarket, ...) permanently on or off? I hate when I scroll or zoom the map and then I have to press loot again and again._Anubis_
DayzForumer 284 Posted March 17, 2013 We already have so many apps, but this looks good.
skunkfu 46 Posted March 17, 2013 (edited) Hey Anubis,I understand what you mean. The reason why it is like this is just now is to reduce the rather large performance impact of having all the locations shown at once on the map (I have to take into consideration much less powerful devices). Until the developers of the Leaflet mapping library (of which DZC uses) improves this, it is currently out of my hands.I'll keep an eye on it anway and see what pops up.Sorry for this. skunkfu 46 Posted March 29, 2013 Hey guys,v2.6 is out.I've added the share function to each waypoint markers, so you can now share their positions using any messaging app you wish. I've also fixed persistence issues on certain devices while tuning up other stuff. So I can now consider the waypoint code solid :)I've also added a Custom Server section for Vehicles in the database. This will include vehicles found in (you guessed it) custom servers. Not much there just now but if you know of any vehicles you think should be included, please message me! Also include relevant data if you can.Cheers. skunkfu 46 Posted April 2, 2013 Hey guys,Yet another update is out, v2.7.I've added labels to the waypoint markers, so you can instantly see what they are once the title is set. I've also added a feature that saves the maps position/zoom level, even on restart of your device. Very handy if you need to quickly check the database. I've applied this to the Map Pack too.Oh and I completely forgot to flesh out all Fuel Tank positions on the map, so I've added them too. :)I've yet to add the waypoint marker system to the Map Pack, but it is planned. I've also figured out a workable solution for HD maps for the Map Pack, it will just take a while to work out. See how it goes.Enjoy.

skunkfu 46 Posted April 6, 2013 Hey guys,Just a quick wee update today.By popular request, I've finally added Loot Tables to the Pro version! They provide detailed information on Loot Spawning and Chances, etc. so I hope most will find them useful.I had a look at adding them as a popup when you press on the individual loot locations, however it was a usability nightmare, especially on smaller devices. So I've added the Loot Tables to the Map Legend and uses native dialogs for the tables. Works just as good :)I've also updated all Vehicle data to reflect DayZDB as the data on DayZWiki is considered inaccurate.Couple other vehicles have also been added to the Custom Servers section, and if you guys have any decent information on them, please pass them on!Enjoy. skunkfu 46 Posted April 13, 2013 Hey guys,I never thought it would happen, but I am pleased to announce Loot locations and HD support for Namalsk and Taviana!I must thank Rusty for filling out the locations for these maps, without his help they would probably have never happened. Cheers good sir :)I initially decided against it, but I went ahead and split the Map Pack into two. Since HD maps take much more space then SD maps, I HD'ified the two most popular maps, and put them into their own Pack. Lingor Island is next to be HD'd as well as Loot added, and another one we haven't decided on yet. Maybe Panthera Island? Let me know!Enjoy.
skunkfu 46 Posted October 17, 2013 (edited) Dam I aint updated this thread in a while.Since last update I've added a completely new waypoints system, more maps with more loot locations, lots more guides (incl. Epoch and Origins), and so much more, I can't even list them. And not to worry, a separate standalone app is sitting here waiting for the goodies. I'll start using this thread to keep everyone updated on development again. Tis well good fun. Please give me some suggestions on what to improve on and add in the future!Enjoy! skunkfu 46 Posted November 17, 2013 Ah I forgot to update this again... For the Pro version I've added a new feature, Side-by-side comparison for Ammunition, Vehicles and Weapons. Picture paints a thousand words! This will make it much easier if you're in a situation where you need to know which item is better, and fast. I still need to add another drop down menu that will categorize all the items, as it is just one big list just now. Hopefully get this sorted out for next update. I hope someone reply's to this topic, even heavy criticism will do.. I feel lonely here :( If mods see this let me know if just me posting isn't what you want on the forum, and I will stop straight away. Thank ya.
AvengedHD 0 Posted November 19, 2013 Yeah, it would be nice to see this hit the iOS App Store.
skunkfu 46 Posted November 20, 2013 Yeah, it would be nice to see this hit the iOS App Store. Hey AvengedHD, unfortunately I don't have the resources to do so, nor the knowledge to develop on the platform. I do apologize for this!
skunkfu 46 Posted November 20, 2013 (edited) Okay guys, another wee update to the app! Replacing the old comparison tables that were just for weapons, I've integrated new tables for all Ammunition, Consumables, Equipment, Vehicles and Weapons right into the database lists in landscape mode. Check it out. Ya can find more info on the blog here http://skunkfu.net/dzc-v2-17-update/. Edit: Ah yeah, I forgot to say I also tweaked the side-by-side feature to include categories to easily choose types of items instead of choosing within one big list. Again you can check out more info in the blog post. Enjoy :) Edited November 20, 2013 by skunkfu
