PVP Trouble

So, I have some really tough times trying to find players in Cherno and Elektro. I have only played two weeks and I want to murder people! Just the thrill of hunting and finding other survivors makes this game a blast! The only issue is, I am not very good at pvp. Every time I get into one of the cities, I get nervous and I wait in one general area because I am too afraid to move in the center of the city. If anyone has some tips that would be great! I know i'm not the only one who is nervous about fighting other players, so let this be help to more than just me! :rolleyes:

Don't be scared, people that panic and flail letting the emotions take over during the fights are usually the ones dead. Doesn't apply to every situation but a lot I would think. It took me a lot of playing time on DayZ to overcome that but now playing really aggressive is a huge advantage in the CQC fights and in general. Doesn't really do much for sniping.

First, understand that just about everything is PvP. In that sense, the term is meaningless in this game. You're always operating at cross-purposes to anyone who isn't explicitly friendly to you, unless you're making efforts to be friendly to everyone. It's simply that sometimes this results in them dying.

You can't just run into the city to hunt people down. If you want to kill people, then you need to ALWAYS be hunting people. Scan 360 degrees constantly; always take advantage of cover and concealment, and always assume there is someone with a sniper scope or binocs scanning your area looking for people.

Players fighting players isn't something that just happens in Cherno. It happens everywhere, all the time.

I would honestly suggest finding some historical accounts of things like LRRP's in Vietnam (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_Range_Reconnaissance_Patrol) and reading up on general infantry tactics. It sounds like you really have no idea where to even start.

Ignore the people spamming COD jokes. Killing everyone that isn't you is a legit survival strategy even if it means you're an asshole.

exit the coastal cities and hunt people in the wilderness, although if your wimping out in cherno/electro where 40% of people are unarmed, 15% have melee 30% have low grade gear and 15% of these values are made up, then you might want to put being a bandit on hold until your balls drop. I haven't been south of Myshikino (drawing a line from that town right across) since day 1 of my 35 day old character the only difference is there's more fags who alt+f4 in order to save there precious high tier gear but there's more of a "hunt" then simply "sit on a rooftop and kill newly spawned players."

You know you have the advantage when you hear gunshots before you haven't even fired one round. So sneak in and if you hear close gunshots, just wait for a minute and take a good spot for an ambush. If you hear footsteps/zeds aggro around you, keep an eye out and when you see him, BAM! Knocked out.

If you hear gunshots from a distant place, go in, but don't rush in, take a look around from a safe distance, so he wont see you first. And again, avoid contact with zeds to stay hidden.

Hm... I never did say I was scared, you just get nervous. I seriously think COD has nothing to do with this game. If I was a little COD kiddy, I don't think I could afford this computer to even play this game now could I?

Killing other players in Cherno does get you good gear. Trust me, I made this post so that way people can come by and get tips, not to get harassed and bored while douche bags come in and label everyone COD players just because they want to experience fighting other players in a really cool game.
