How to get into the same server of a friend?

Been playing this game for a few weeks, and when me and my friend play we obviously try to get on the same server. It usually goes something like this, "Do you see x server? No? Ok what about x server?" And it takes about 10-15 to find a good server we both see. My question is what would be the easiest way we could find the same server? Can you invite people to a server you are in?

Pro tip: launch Arma II from six launcher and then go to multiplayer.

If you ask me why, it's because six launcher doesn't always show all available servers.

check dayzcommander. If you and your friend have unique names then you could do a name search.

Have your friend (or yourself) press " i " while ingame.

That should show the server name.

Send the server name to your friend.

If you use the DayZ commander launcher, all you need to do is type his name and BAM, you can see what server he's playing on.

Using dayz commander or Six launcher. Make sure you an your friends have all setting for sever search to same or you may not see the same ones. find one that works an then have your friend go into the search bar an type exact name spaces an capitals both count so it has to be exact word for word. The biggest problem you run into is when one friend is using an older /newer version of dayz or arma then your self so check to make sure you are on the same versions an the search filters are the same or at least on default. 1. Use DayZ Commander

2. Ensure you both are using the same arma beta and dayZ version

3. Refresh all servers before searching (top right corner)

4. Have one person find a suitable one, and the other search for the exact name of the server, with all filters off

It may take a few tries, but those rule out a lot of issues that arise.

I find each loader can sometimes miss certain servers. I know this because I play on servers all the time and sometimes they don't show (I can find them with the in-game server list so I know it is running and not down for maint'), to be sure find a server address and use that.

But I use DayZ Commander as the filters in DayZ Commander usually finds a server for my friends to join up with me, and to boot you can update everything with DC so that's an added bonus!

If 1 of you sees a server but the other does not, x out the client you are using (6launcher/updater/dayz commander/steam) until the server appears, or just keep hitting refresh. It's what me and my clan do and it works 95% of the time. Some servers just dissapear for good though.

All you have to do is both find the same server. Once you both find the same server you both should be fine. But if you both can't find the same server, try going into the in game multiplayer search and have both you search that way. Sometimes DayZ Commander doesn't find the server that my friends find, so I use that other method.

We've had this problem and have checked all settings in DayZcommander, some servers just don't seem to show on both. Will try the name search layer. :)
