So me and my buddy were raiding Stary this morning. 15ish folks on the server. Before going in, we thermal the area. I covered him while he did so. We even did a bait run were I ran out to draw fire. Nothing, ok so we are looting the tents.

I die. No biggie 25 day old character all the gadgets. I was killed by an AKM some where just infront of the tents in Stary. Guy Alt F4's to drop zombie aggro. Comes back, buddy is guarding my corpse, guy leans down to loot takes a head shot and 11 bullets exit my friends gun. I can't say for not if all 11 hit but at 15 meters I trust the majority did. Alt F4's again. We assume well at 11 bullets at best the guy is at 2k blood, bleeding broken blah blah. We've got a good ten minutes before he can even think about showing back up. Me having a hero skin starts my run back, before I could get to Stary from Otmel (Literally just a couple minutes), the guy managed to log back in kill my friend by ghosting in some where behind us (Over by the big industrial in stary) he insta aborts and sits in the lobby for a while.

The player's name was Coldsteel.

First of all I don't mind people using exploits its gonna happen.

The question I have is, when you log out or Alt F4 isn't there suppose to be a small window where you're character can still die ? I thought it had a five second time period where all damage is recorded because 11 shots from an L85 at 15 meters...First one was probably a head shot. If not all center mass. I am curious how he managed to survive?

I don't that he did it, what my point is. While back I remember reading that this was such a problem, you got the ghost feature if you change servers too fast you end up on the coast, this fail. He some how managed to find healing to wake up waaay before his timer should have let him from logging out with Shock. And if his body was -there- for 5 seconds. It doesn't take 5 seconds to empty an L85. Not only that the bullets that did exit the gun hit but were not counted.

Was the 5 second thing removed? Or is perhaps a new script? I honestly didn't know if I should have reported it as a bug or not, because the guy was back before I got over the hill in Otmel...like 1k meters tops...he'd logged into another server, epi-pen'd transfused, morphined? Then came back?

I was once about 30-40 meters away from a guy, and I shot at him and he INSTANTLY alt F4'd. He didn't see me, and the bullet landed right in the wall behind him. I didn't even know it was possible to react that fast, but he did. What a pussy. If you're going to Alt F4 THAT fast, you have no business playing Day Z, let alone going to the NWA.

No I understand the speed of Alt f4 it can be macro'd to a mouse button. The fail safe of the character persisting for 5 seconds is what I'm worried about. I thought for sure it was in the game already? With this though, there's no way. The ghosting servers and ending up on the coast failed too. Though i imagine that one isn't too bad as he wasn't gone long enough for him to "loot anything"

I believe the persisting thing is impossible on the current engine. Or Rocket et al tried it and couldn't get it to work.

I'm basically asking something like this? I mean yea I died. Oh noes! With in 20 minutes I had an M4 SD 2 mags, makarov 8 mags. Minor supplies. It just ... when I thought something was in place and it wasn't. I could be very wrong and it was never put into the game just couldn't find the post saying it was or will be.

On a side note, yea Alt F4 is the cure all :)

I was actually excited because it'd been the first time I wasn't killed by a hacker, after experiencing it though...it is just as bad. I've made people do it by scarying them and such but never seen it happen this fast. That is my only issue. We all know the trama or what ever, shock, makes you go night night for 5 minutes? He -had- to be bleeding. So he would have -had- to had a friend on another server -in- stary ready with medical supplies or a [TWM] were on top of that. Get fixed run to the last tent then server hop all in about 3 minutes. I loaded a new character up, took off running and before I was 1k meters from my spawn he was back and in fighting shape...-that- is what bothers me about it.

he probably had god mode on. i logged in north of elektro the other day and saw a guy with an AS50 TWS and started unloading on him with my DMR, hit him from 100~ yards about 4-5 times and he just kept running like nothing happened. i logged before he could kill me

Who knows. God mode would explain it more then anything. If he wasn't hurt, didn't have shock he'd could have been delayed in the "Well if I alt f4 no one will know I have god mode on" but who knows. I just wanted to get it out there, didn't know if that 5 second rule was in place. Found it amusing someone basically combat logged 3 times in a 4 minute time span...was the cure all to what ail'd the person.

There currently isn't a logout timer, and it's been suggested a million times before. Why it hasn't been implemented, I don't know.

what's funny is this has been handled on some private hives where hitting that command in a shocked or bleeding state causes you to die for doing it. For some reason Rocket just doesn't add the god damn timer. I swear sometimes regular players seem to be able to write the code for this better than him. I've seen private hives fix duping, fix tents, fix alt+f4 and even add better protection to servers for anti cheat. For fucks sake hackers got dogs in dayz faster than Rocket. Whatever, i still love him for what he has given us.

I have a video up of a hacker fake crashing the server and when you alt-f4 it kills you.. You don't see me die in the video because I stopped recording after the server crashed but the abort menu was faded out so when I went to alt-f4 I died.

No, i understand it's totally different and will work in different ways, but i do feel that the community could of already done it if it was necessary. I just look forward to when this mod is turned over to us and we can see what else can be done.
