Does the music in Day z are just random or do they mean something?

because the kind of heartbeat music seems like someone is hunting me..

As far as I know it doesn't relate to anything happening in game. Generally if you hear gunshots then someone is hunting you :)

It's random - just turn it off. Most of it doesn't even make any sense.

Metal clanging and swings swinging while you're in a forest. Just strikes my brain as stupid, not scary at all.

As far as I know it's just random. I can sit in the forest while cooking some meat at a fire and the hearthbeat-sound is coming up too. So don't matter if u get hunted or not. (:
