Gray Circle Around Character

Whenever I am playing the game in first person, all around my character is this gray rectangle circle thing. I have looked even past these forums for help on this problem, but have found nothing. If you know how to help this, please let me know.

That might be the white circles from zombies, animals or other players? Near the edge of your screen? If so, it is a server setting.
