DayZ Commander Issue with HFB Servers?

Recommended Posts

Just want the masses to see this before they make the same mistake I did. Takes days for support responses and most of the time its "so it this happening" or a stupid question instead of some support and having to wait for another day for yet another response, OR it's them passing blame off "That's a DayZ Commander issue" "that's not on our end' when more often then not it is their fault. Also, they are down SOOOOOO much for "updates" and it takes a whole day to play on the server.

This is a warning to all you who are looking for a host, Steer clear.

Im going to take a wild guess and say you are talking about the issue with joining your server for the first time using dayzcommanders direct join, Had that issue with my server, took me about 10 seconds to realise to join it directly from arma if its the first time. I can assume the supposed "questions" they are asking you is to ask if you are using dayzcommander. And there supposed sooooooo much downtime, my server has been down for the first time today for updates... Not sure what you mean by takes a day to play...

Typically it helps if you actually listen to what a support person trying to help you. Not just flame them on a forum becuase you do not take 10 seconds to use common knowledge.

That's normal, if people don't have that many alternatives support is always slack. Also if you happen to recieve hundreds of mails regarding this and that which has nothing to do with the hoster but is a DayZ issue you tend to become annoyed.

Let's be clear.. it's probably not dayz commander, rather his installation or misuse of my configuration :)

lol, not from dayz commander its them not "posting" the proper server so dayz commander doesn't realize it's actually .34 not what ever it thinks it is, dayz commander doesn't work still with lingor anyways it never works because its trying to load from the wrong .exe thus you get on for one sec then back to main menu.

I do listen to them, It's annoying when I have to wait a day for a response and that response is just a question in return. No its not that with dayz commander, Dayz commander is idiot proof and it doesn't pick up the correct version of my server (either it's a dayz commander issue or a hfb issue) but either way the actual version of my server is not being picked up by dayz commander and as we all know is where the brunt of people looking for new servers finds them.

i've asked you on your google group forums to help clarify about this issue and so have several other people and none of us have received any response. i am appreciative for what you've done/what you do but some clarification would be extremely helpful and rather than posting just to defend yourself, helping out would be cool! I can verify that everyone who tries with just straight up dayz commander has no luck at all. DayZ commander will only pick up our server as a .3 server, which is untrue.

I pretty much just figured seeing as how you probably have the most experience you'd know what we should be looking for as far as what's making the server identify properly, but then again I can't access any Lingor server with the default config of DayZ commander.

I can verify that our host has pretty much done nothing but point the finger at DayZ Commander.

Our servers have had multitudes of issues with HFB.

Have you even tried to connect to your server without a third party tool?

-mod=@dayz_lingor_island;@dayz_lingor -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -nopause

If that works and DayZ Commander doesn't well then...

This thread should more so be titled Dayz commander Issues not beware hfb.... It obviously appears to be an issue with version reporting and dayz commander and yet you blame hfb for the issues.

Yeah :D It works fine without DayZ Commander... but we'd like it to.

Nothing about the server response allows me to determine the correct version of Dayz; only the arma version. I have to rely on what's in the host name is and parse it out of that. This can actually be somewhat reliable because most of the server hosts template out the host name based on version and settings. See here for more details: http://www.dayzcommander.com/faq#H

Whats the IP:Port of your server?

Yeah :D It works fine without DayZ Commander... but we'd like it to.

So once again, backing what apperently hfb has said and what multiple users have said, This is an issue with dayzcommander not hfb...

hfb sells you a server that works just fine using the games own server browser arma II coded server browser yet you complain because your third party tool does not work perfectly with it; the tool that [just] added lingor support. its like buying a car that uses regular gas; you putting in desiel; then taking it back to the dealer and bitching that the car does not take what you want it to take..

dayzcommander is a nice tool, but its not a end all solution to everything.

Actually In my next patch, DayZCommander will be able to park your car and do your laundry.... so then your statement will become false.

Hmm.. I'm having that 0.3 problem with my servers - the server name is pretty much exactly the same as other lingor servers that do work on dayz commander...

How'd they fix it?

I run multiple servers (dedicated, high-speed DayZ "open" servers, and Lingor Island private hive) through HFB, and I use DayZ Commander all the time.

In fact, the only time I have an issue with DayZ Commander is connecting to the Lingor Island private hive. And I suspect it's because I have to launch the "beta patch" and enable the Lingor Island add-ons everytime I want to get in. Since I'm there, and it's just restarted, I just use the multiplayer/internet/remote/IP-Port function instead of exiting all the way out and re-using DayZ Commander.

Also, concerning the OP, I'll state in this thread, as I have in a couple of others ... the guys at HFB have walked me through every stage of setting up multiple servers, both open and private. I have never, ever, had an issue with their response time or ability to help me. Granted there have been times that they have asked questions or told me what to do and I was totally lost. But that's mostly because you can find any common rock in your garden and it will know more about computers than I do ... although I am learning.

I will remain a loyal customer of HFB as long as they'll have me.

Yeah, LOL, I've had people tell me they find my way to my servers quite often when they look for "Gravel Pit," and get, "hosted by Gravel," instead. My apologies to the Gravel Pit guys, but I've had the Gravel nickname in R/L for almost 20 years now.
