I´ve been playing some hours during the 2000 BE bans, and after it. And the thing is that in my experience, hackers are still all around. I usually play on LU servers on de 100-300 range. The thing is, I´ve encountered hackers in 5 of 5 servers I checked. The last one didn´t have hackers... It was me and another guy in the server so that is what I call secure server :D.

The different thing is that these hackers just teleported to me, spawned a medical box full of hacked and legal items, and said to me it was because i was a Hero (I have the skin), that bandits are bad people and he is killing them. Then he vanishes.

This happened in 3 of 5 servers, everytime a different player (or the same one with another name), but all of them with russian accent. Its kind of strange, hacking items to heroes and then killing all the bandits in the game (I think survivors too, because the number of kills in the server suddenly became absurd). Then the servers dropped down from 23-25 players to 3 and then 0.

I can´t understand hacking at this game, but hacking in that way its way out of my other experience with hackers.

Hackers/Scripters do a manner of different things. Some will kill and troll players, others will prosper with weapons, vehicles etc.

There is no grey in hacking, it's just all black and white IMO, but it doesn't hurt to pick-up that gun you found in a tent city.

I had something like that happen to me a while back. Me and my friend made it to Stary and we ran into a barn to look for some food real fast. Then some hackers teleported to us. My friend disconnected immediately and I stayed on because I don't support ALT F4ing. Little did we know they were hackers at the time.

Their "leader" had a ghillie suit and a demon like voice modifier. I thought it was the typical, put your gun down stuff. So with them trying to tell me what to do and my friend screaming at me over skype to disconnect, I end up lagging out.

Wanting to see what will happen (I honestly thought it was cool being held hostage) I rejoin the server. I had a glitch happening to me at that time where everytime I rejoined a server I would pass out. Well when I joined the hackers thought I was dead and one of them double tapped me to see if I was. Not a good idea. I then died.

I respawned, who knows where. As I'm running I see a jeep and the hackers jump out. I thought, "I must be really close to my body!" They come out and tell me not to move. I go prone and just lay there. They tell me their going to help me. They then proceed to spawn me an ammo crate. They say, take what ever you want from it. I had no clue this was hacking as I was still new to the mod. I get good gear and proceed out. They tell me not to die because they aren't giving me another one.

There are no white hat scripters/hackers in my opinion.

If they kill everyone, thunder dome the server or grant you three wishes for spawned kit they are still breaking and manipulating the game for their own ends.

Too many players seem content to whine to high heaven when a scripter fucks over their day, but have no problem accepting magically spawned weapons or supplies because that works in their favour and the scripter is 'doing a good deed'. Double standards of the worst kind.

Implying I approve hackers, wich i don´t. I just used the title because I vas given the box for being a hero. All the hackers used the same pretext to give me a box.

And yes, I took a weapon from that box. My beloved Winchester (freshly respawned at elektro, after dieing by the hand of another hacker). Being in that area means to me that I don´t need anything else, the rest i can scavenge for it.

Calling them White Knights does not imply that I approve them. The way they act (giving crates to Heros and survivors) it´s pretty different from my previous experiences. And I´m whining too about the hackers every day with my friends, and have reported a couple. All the servers I used to play in are lost to them, and it´s a pity, i had some annotations about spawns, tent cities, etc... Every server looks like a "new map" to me, because I wanna know where everything is, so thats some work wasted. Seems impossible to step in a server without being hacked.

At least, I can thank to them catching up the phrase "never get attached to your gear". I usually avoid combat, and usually got attached to every set of equipment I had. Now i prefer to carry the Winchester and an Alice pack. I can die any second.

I learned the lesson, tho, but hackers still there. :(

I still prefer they don't hack. Getting a box of everything you need takes the fun out of the game, and though we all hate being killed by bandits, they're what keep the game exciting.

I do like hackers that just fuck with people, not really helping or hurting them, like the one that had the bloody skin and sang before hitting people. The game needs more variety, not people getting instant gear. Where's the fun in that?

Normally I can't stand hackers but there are a rare few in these games that I actually enjoy.

Mainly the trolling ones that will just freak players out without harming them or ruining the gameplay for them. Those guys are always hilarious, especially if they do it right.

People who spawn in weapons, make themselves invincible, or various other hacks to improve their odds are sad and ruin the game more for themselves than anyone else. The real problems are the assholes who kill everyone on a server, teleport players, or otherwise affect people other than themselves through non-legit means. Those guys are beyond me, I can never figure out what they get out of it.
