Exenima 45 Posted September 10, 2012 Okay so, a lot of people bought the game Arma 2 just because of the DayZ mod was on it, and i think it's great, but i think that people should be rewarded for buying both the game and expansion just to play the mod, so here's my idea. In the lead up to the standalone being released, i think that all the people that own Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead on Steam, should be able to get the Standalone for a reduced price, as we have already bascially bought the game. It's just an idea, but it would be great if the players who already payed $30 just to play DayZ, had to fork up another expenditure to buy the standalone. As i said it's just an idea, and i hope it gets taken into consideration, but i know that a lot of loyal customers would agree that it would make their lives easier. So as i was saying, in the lead up to the release of the standalone, maybe each steam player who has bought the game should get a special code, which they can write into when purchasing the new standalone, and by using this code it reduces the cost of the retail version by a certain percentage the developers see fit.Anyway's, just take my words into consideration.
starwarsfan@gmx.de 450 Posted September 10, 2012 Not this again...And no, you did not buy the game already. You bough Arma 2, which is a great and complete fully fledged game in itself. If you bought it for a mod... well that's you own god damned fault. You knew what you were getting (or at least you should have, if you posses any common sense at all which you probably don't).Also, the game will be sold in beta stage for a reduced cost anyway, just like minecraft was, so what the heck is your problem?

Exenima 45 Posted September 10, 2012 It was just an idea. I know people have to take into consideration that they bought the game Arma2, but i was just appealing to the people who bought the game for DayZ, unaware that a standalone was being made. I don't want to cause any conflict or argueing, but like i said, it was just an idea.
Jgut90 71 Posted September 10, 2012 You should have searched your idea in the first place.

First, it'll be sold in alpha. You bought Arma 2, not DayZ. Edited September 12, 2012 by colekern
the horror 262 Posted September 12, 2012 (edited) I paid full retail for Arma 2, and I'll happily pay the $30 or whatever for Dayz. It's only going to be around $30 FFS... I spend more than that a week that on coffees. Edited September 12, 2012 by supanaut

Tristram 23 Posted September 13, 2012 Rocket and co. need to make a living as well.Thirty dollars is next to nothing. And I don't even believe it's meant to be that much..It may 'Just be an idea', but it's been discussed before.
