Modding weapons

Recommended Posts

like it says above it would be nice to find components in the map to upgrade/change your current weapon.

they would be hard to find, and also depends on weapon.

ex:

you could find a makarov silencer around in houses, but like the gun is common,so the silencer would rare for this weapon.

or you could simply get a flashlight on it like the G17.

another example would be the SAW machinegun.

they are verry rare,so a finding a red dot scope or something similar (Bipod) would be nice. but they would be extremely rare then.

also you cant not use more then 2 upgrades on your weapon.

for example for an assault rifle, you could instal a

flashlight, silencer, scope etc,but only 2 at a time, you would still be able to take of an upgrade to replace with another one.

2 upgrades per weapon? well.. you can have as many damn attachments as your gun can hold.

So if i have a scope for an assault rifle, and a suppressor. I cant put a grip or flashlight on it even though theres room?!

Also this has been posted like.. 500 times.

or just add veriations of weapons and make then x3 more rare then their original counter parts. For instance a lee enfield is a common rifle, But you could find a lee enfield with a scope which would be x3 times as rare to find as the lee enfield it self. so on and so forth.

There are already reports of this being implemented in standalone. With the engine they will be using, makes this possible. Things like red dots and silencers will be able to be mounted on certain weapons.

Cant remember where the article is but I have read it.

This is obviously CoDish...

Crunch you might confuse it with ArmA 3.

I read this in an article about DayZ, so maybe the article was rubbish or it may happen hahah

Rocket is definitely implementing something similar in the standalone. I heard this recently from Matt Lightfoot when he did a Q&A in the TMW Teamspeak.

In other news, the 1000th thread about modding weapons has been posted.

I think it would be cool too if you could say, change out things like barrels (Better long range accuracy), grips, sights, ect.

It's really not CoD'ish if done right, you can do it in real life and it's usually fairly simple to do.
