Radeon users should try enabling MSAA

Recommended Posts

I believe the newer radeon cards have some kind of effortless antialising feature, and it would seem as if there is no fps drop even when antialising is set to "very high".

Dayz probably has little complex geometry, so maybe there is not much work for the graphics card to antialise the edges of the few trees, the buildings and the shapes in the terrain .

DayZ options panel:

PPAA - > MSAA = very high.

From the looks of the post, it should help with speed and prettiness.

I currently have antialiasing for trees only, and msaa at very high in addition. Game runs with 40-60 fps. Usually 60 fps, but it drops a little for unknown reasons. The fps seem to be linked in part to the particular server I play on, which would explain why I got 13 fps on one server.
