It means there is a heli crashed there. It's a bug - probably with the scaling of the animation at a distance.

I saw this too and assumed it was just another crazy graphical glitch. I was in the woods though, so for a moment I wondered if this game actually had the capacity to support forest fires.

Hello all

Just FYI, this also happens when script kiddies spawn and de-rez items as well.

Also happens in other RV engine powered games, that dont have helis, when hacked.

Usually a good indicator that something is amiss. Usually...
