Is there some way you can give us a heads up before the server's are shut down for 30 mins to update? Or at least a server restart in 1/5/10 minutes warning? Everyone is getting mad they don't know why the server is still down.

EDIT: Thanks for the update now, just happened before that it's been shut down without a warning is all.

Yea, its down for sure. Not sure what's up. Wish we could get an email when they are planning maintenance.

I am guessing it is not a planned outage. They are much better than that and I am sure they would post something on here, twitter, and on the site leading up to it. TBH I don't even know why I asked it (I guess I am used to my old server provider (we all know who that is)).

We DO have offsite backups of all databases and they WILL be restored, we do not know how long this is going to take we are still trying to sort out the hacking incident.

What happened is that someone gained access to the control panel our host uses and issued OS reloads on all of our dayz.st-related servers. This is honestly a complete and total lack of professionalism on the part of our host. We are responsible because we chose them as a host. We are one of their larger customers so they are doing everything they can to get us back online but it will take time.

Probably the same guys as before hopefully they get the source this time and all is resolved its understandable it might take time I guess I am worried if it takes more than 48 hours my database backup I need to restore wont be available though

To be fair the outage on my server was on twitter pretty much straight away, just a shame this happened right after. I;m sure admins have bigger concerns when its a security issue

Yeah for sure, ours was down for a good 35 minutes before the twitter message was up, just asking for a quick post of whats going on to be able to answer our players. Not a big deal that's for sure a bigger priority.

Is there any indication as to who is constantly trying to hack you guys? There seems to be a hack attempt every week. It can't just be random attacks.

We don't know, it might be dayzland - all we know is the IP that did it originated in Egypt. I honestly believe that we weren't targetted specifically - they were just targeting any customer at our datacenter.

In any case we managed to recover the main server and all of the databases.

Here are the details:

Salt Lake City - All Servers Online

Dallas - All Servers Online

Amsterdam - All Servers Online

Seattle - All Servers Online

Singapore - All Servers Online

London - All Servers Online

Washington DC - All Servers Online

I will update this post when new servers are fixed.

The rest of the servers we are going to start slowly bringing back online one by one, I'm estimating 6 hours until everything is fully restored (but don't hold me to that)

We have disabled the control panel until the mess is completely sorted out.
