log spamming after updating to 1.7.2.6

Recommended Posts

I just updated to to v 1.7.2.6 and my ARMA2OASERVER.RPT log started to spam this:

13:53:36 "HIVE: UPDATING OBJ: [34ef7040# 1055555: uh1h.p3d,"damage"] / UID: "175466150006331243""
13:53:36 "HIVE: UPDATING OBJ: [34ef7040# 1055555: uh1h.p3d,"damage"] / UID: "175466150006331243""
13:53:37 "HIVE: UPDATING OBJ: [34ef7040# 1055555: uh1h.p3d,"damage"] / UID: "175466150006331243""
13:53:37 "HIVE: UPDATING OBJ: [34ef7040# 1055555: uh1h.p3d,"damage"] / UID: "175466150006331243""
13:53:37 "HIVE: UPDATING OBJ: [34ef7040# 1055555: uh1h.p3d,"damage"] / UID: "175466150006331243""
13:53:37 "HIVE: UPDATING OBJ: [34ef7040# 1055555: uh1h.p3d,"damage"] / UID: "175466150006331243""
13:53:37 "HIVE: UPDATING OBJ: [34ef7040# 1055555: uh1h.p3d,"damage"] / UID: "175466150006331243""

makes streaming the log pretty useless as it spams this multiple times every second.

anyone else experienced this or have any idea why this is happening?

Yup, was waiting on someone making a thread about this. Yet another fuck up from DayZ!

Updates / Software Grenades!

i think this is caused by a heli that has crashed into the sea and is taking damage but is not getting destroyed.

can i somehow get help from dayz devs to remove this heli from the hive? or am i screwed?

i dont think thats the problem, we have the heli on our server and its not in the sea but our log is being spammed by the exact same message as yours, like 20 logs per second, the RPT log file grows by 1MB per minute

EDIT**

Its not exactly the same. This is ours

Yeah mine isn't doing the spamming either. My RPT logs are reasonable. Only one I have going insane is the scripts.log but that is b/c I chose to log everything to get a baseline of what means what in the game so I can possible develop a parser in perl. Which I am doing on the createvehicle right now to help me identify when a hacked box is spawned.

But my RPT log is about the same.

Use wordpad and use the CTRL + F (find) and search ammobox... job done? In the create vehicle log.

when i have asked around how to solve this i have been told that if the vehicles remain untouched for 7 days they revert back to their original spawn point.

is this true?

should i just wait it out and try and purge the logs the best i can until then?

Ive read the same thing somewhere but i know it to be un-true. We have left vehicles untouched for weeks and weeks and they stay exactly where they are.

Umm no....

Guess who I found in my log with "ammobox" - myself.

A legit ammobox is ingame "AmmoBoxSmall_556" and I guess "AmmoBoxSmall_762" dependent on which kind of ammo it contains.

Maybe search for "AmmoBoxBig" instead would be a better.

I'm not sure how mods feel about this as far as servers on the public hive go but you can edit

server_updateObject and comment out the following line:

diag_log ("HIVE: UPDATING OBJ: "+ str(_this) + " / UID: " + str(_uid));

Wow! 500MB? Mine hit 88MB, but the damage spam stopped after I restarted. Also, do you clean out your .rpt during restarts? I restart my server at least once a day, and before I turn the server back on, I scan the .rpt for any useful data, and if there is nothing, then I just delete 99% of the text, and turn the server back on. As the map is rendering and the mission loading, it will repopulate the .rpt with the basic data from the hive. This keeps your .rpt small so you can access it quick when you need to.

After a restart the same thing, but if I scroll up high enough ... it appears that every vehicle from my server spam the log for a while then the motorcycle takes over. It's looking like every vehicle is in one spot, probably dumped in the sea.

So, after running around for literally hours looking (and having to stop every 5 minutes and ask people to leave so I can fix it) I find out that a single motorcycle is parked under water just east of Cherno.

Grenades don't work.

Can't plant Satchel Charges.

And Battleye will ban me if I go find out how to use a script to get it out of there.

Any suggestions?

Yah it is happening everyday now, which is a huge pain in the ass because it makes it painstakingly slow to check logs for scripters! Grrr fix this shit dev team!
