svenbreakfast 231 Posted September 7, 2012 The way I see it, one "skill" we should be able to improve is our cardio. The more you run the further and faster your character will be able to go. I don't think in any case you should be able to sprint indefinitely.A new character should have a normal ability to run, fast enough to get away from zombies, but only able to sprint about a mile before getting gassed. This would make the game more interesting, and make people think twice before just sprinting through a major city and attracting hordes with the knowledge that the only tool they need to deal with them is the W key. Overall it would make zombies a lot more dangerous for the right reasons.
sheepdawg 278 Posted September 7, 2012 I very much agree and heard a rumor that Rocket MAY remove unlimited sprinting. One thing I dont like about this idea is more and more suggestions that sound great like this, lean the game towards and Survival RPG...and I dont want to have to grind in DayZ...unless its for gear and supplies. lucid_wolf@hotmail.com 93 Posted September 7, 2012 I wonder how tired I would get if Zombies were chasing me... Reminds me of a professor I once had (African American) told us a story of how when he was in the military stationed in the "SOUTH" 5 red necks threatened his life outside a bar. He said he started RUNNING and didn't stop for 5 miles, he told us FEAR takes over and you'r body just moves, there's no time to be tired he said, Tired = Death. I'm guessing this applies to a Zombie Apoc. also.Side Note: Mr Simmons went back to the bar with 12 of his marine buddies.... Smiles at our class and ends the story!! Never would tell us what happened next...
svenbreakfast 231 Posted September 7, 2012 I agree there. That's why I put the term "skill" in quotes. I think any player who is alive for a few days should have run enough to get pretty good at it- be able to run/jog about 10 miles carrying a pack.Given that it is a realism game, stuff you could grind in real life you should be able to grind in the game. Things like how well you shoot or drive a car have built-in learning curves, running is one of the few things that could justify a sort of "grind". I'd rather say improvement over time, but I suppose any goal you place in front of people will be something they will seek to max in as short an amount of time possible. Would be fun to take shots at the min/maxer running in circles out in a field.

RIGHTLY 87 Posted September 8, 2012 (edited) Perhaps if your character is in shock he can run as fast as he can without getting exhausted, but when the rush ends he needs to rest straight away. Edited September 8, 2012 by RIGHTLY
