tyronk2@hotmail.com 36 Posted September 7, 2012 So after reading all the stories of people being hacked on every server they went to and such, i thought i was just lucky that i had never seen a hacker before, or people were just being killed and claiming it was a hacker, well, last night, my first real encounter with a hacker happened.Me and a friend got to the NW Airfield, as we are about to enter the first Hanger (Starting from south part of the airfield), a message pops up *Mr. Fritzel has died", .. we read and carry on with our looting, now as we approach the last hanger, gun shots start firing (I admit this guy was a terrible shot, never managed to hit any of us), we run into the last hanger and take cover for awhile, trying to scope out the outside area for signs on anyone, after about 5-10 minutes of checking the area, we decide to run just next door to the tower, all good, no problems, run to the top to check for guns, nothing, run back down to the bottom level. While we are deciding our next move, more shots ring out and my friend drops, im hiding against the wall next to the door, I run back up the tower to look out the window, nothing. Now at this point, none of us feel like running all the way back from the coast to the airfield, and i dont like playing alone that much, so i think what the hell, I run out the back door, come around the corner, and in the radio tower top floor window I see the guy, i take aim with my M16A2, release about 6 -7 shots into him while he tries to fire back, but misses, he suddenly drops, i get up and run back to the tower I was in.I climb up the tower and take aim through the window back at the radio tower. Now im guessing this guys gun was pretty dam loud, because suddenly theres zombies running from everywhere to the radio tower, probably around 50, climbing the side ladder, going through the entrance, i think to myself "this guy is done for", when suddenly, all the zombies leave the radio tower and run straight towards the building im in, im wondering how this is possible, theres only 2 exits to that tower and both were smothered with Zeds, and i was watching, i turn around to check my stair case, and there is the player, looking at me with a sniper (it had camo all over with with what looked like gillie suit material hanging off it, i aim at him, and release the rest of my clip into him, about 22 rounds, .... nothing, he is still standing there looking at me, i then look at the name of the guy im shooting at... Mr. Fritzel. He aims at me, shoots, and i die.So yeah, my first hacker, i dont know how me managed to get to the NW airfield about 5 minutes after he died, and then somehow teleports from the building hes in, and then doesnt die to +/- 28 rounds.I dont really mind dying, im not the Alt F4 type, but to a hacker its different, dont know why people cant fight fair, maybe they know they arent very good, and get some type of false sense of accomplishment by killing other players, although, as far as hackers go, atleast he didnt script kill us, he used a gun, but he really could do with some more target practice.Sorry for the long read ! ZenBC 35 Posted September 7, 2012 Hackers are usually really terrible shots in my experience. They hack because they suck and don't understand that it takes some time to get good at something. People who are good at a game rarely hack I think - if they're already good at it, there's no need to...Dying to a hacker in this game is what made me stop playing - dying to another player fairly is one thing. Dying to a guy who teleports to you in the middle of nowhere and kills you? Different thing altogether.
puppetworx 474 Posted September 7, 2012 I'm also really curious about what scripters get out of what they do. What is the payoff? I always think about that when a scripter kills me in game, I never get mad, I just wonder what is running through the scripters head that makes it worth their while. If there are any scripters on here willing to give an honest account of what your emotional experience is while scripting I'd be fascinated in hearing it.
