What would you have done in this situation.....

Recommended Posts

Ok so we are playing Lingor Island (but thats not relevant)

Our team crosses the river (4 of us) while the sniper team (another 2 people) cover us.

Suddenly theres another guy in the water, swimming towards the sniper team (he hasnt seen them though)

Not wanting him to walk into the sniper team we call out (being a friendly group and all) and he prones 300m away looking at us.

He throws us insults and stuff then goes quiet.

We give him repeated warnings as he keeps peeking over the hill, looking and aiming at us (probably lining up a shot)

We tell him, turn around and run into the woods and we wont shoot (he already knows we saw him in the water and would have killed him at that moment had we wanted to)

He keeps adjusting his aim, and I give him a five second count down......and our sniper team takes him out.

What a moron........would you have listened and walked away? He knew there were at least 4 of us spread out in the woods as he had thermal but never once spotted our snipers

He had all good stuff, M4 with grenade launcher, L85, NV goggles, rangefinder, the works.

Then he goes and tries telling everyone on the server we are bandits, when we were talking to him on side chat the whole time and people just laugh at his stupidity. They all agreed he was an idiot and should have run away as we offered him a chance to live, and he choose to die instead

Yeah thing is we were in heavy cover behind trees (he could probably see our legs or shoulders but our snipers were lined up with headshots the whole time)

So he would never have made a headshot, maybe wounded one of us but he had a lot of gear to take the risk

I would have walked away, or at least acted like I was friendly and taken the shot minus the profanity. But with that set up I would have left to live another day man, sounds like he got exactly what he deserved and you guys were probably way too nice in the first place. As soon as I saw the profanity I would have shot and then laughed at how dumb the person had to be to not take the opportunity to walk away.

Unrelated note I think I have played on the Lingor server you guys frequent (or run) a few times, I know I have seen the regulator group before. I am really loving side chat since it gives people an opportunity to actually play the game in a friendlier manner but I also learned my lesson on people calling out their position on side chat. Last night I trailed a group in an SUV that constantly was calling out that they were going to the prison, then watched a bandit toss a grenade into the barracks killing two of the people and the bandit combat logged after taking some shots. I thought that was everyone in the area and I walked in to loot and ran into the quiet third member and was so startled that I shot the person.

He didn't know you had snipers. I've managed to elimiante groups of 3 few times. Once I've given a hell of a fight against group of 9 people in Cherno. I've trapped myself in garage at the docks and eventually got killed. I've found then these guys on the forums here and they thanked me and told me that it was one of the greatest fights ever and invited me to fight them again. You can find this story in russian section :P

So if you ask me if I should just walk away or take my chances to get the most intense experience ever then I'm going with the second one.

Fair enough :)

Yeah, we were well covered, watching all sides in case he had a friend. We were planning to wait until he was out of sight as in 1000m (if he chose to retreat)

He was also in an open field, just on a small bank so he had no real cover.

Unless he was going down in a blaze of glory then he probably should have fallen back, but yeah he didnt know about the snipers so probably was thinking whether or not he could take us

I would have shot him in the water and be done with it. If you're not part of my group then you are a threat. I shoot first and ask questions later.

If I were him I would have head in the opposite direction as soon as I seen you, because I want to do what is the most important thing in this game and survive. Hanging around other players means your looking for trouble as far as Im concerned.

The first time he aimed at one of you he should have gotten a lead injection to the noggin.

I've gradually shifted from goodguyheroman to assholekilleveryoneonsight guy due to the rampant backstabbing and KOS everyone has taken to. It sucks, and I hate it. Sure, I could take the moral highground and stick to my stance of "do unto others", but a man can only stand to face that beach so many damn times, ya know?

I'd have shot the fucker in the river, personally.

It always amazes me how many people get so bent out of shape over KOS, or being killed in a VIDEO GAME.

I want the firefights. I want people to shoot at me. This isnt real life, this is a game. Have fun with it and try not to have an anuerism because you got shot or had to shoot someone.

He could have played it smarter and backed off.

But could you have trusted the guy? With an L85 he probably would have backed off a little and then picked off one or two of you before you got him.
