HostAltitude servers hacked / overtaken?

Our server from HostAltitude was just overtaken. I wonder if someone expirienced the same. Here is what the hacker actually did:

- changed server name completly (we dont have access to the file necessary to do this)

- changed maximum players (we dont have access to the file necessary to do this)

- deleted battleye (regarding a log file)

did you contact your hoster? if yes what did they say?

may they just gave the server to another person by mistake.

I contacted them, but no reply so far.

I doubt the server was given to someone else. I can still log into the controlpanel and ftp. The servers name is change to some hacker stuff.

I had this happen one time also (another host though) and never got an answer of them how it exactly happen. In first instance they pretty much accused me of changing it myself...just lol, as one can hardly change anything at all on slotted servers let alone such things as available slots.

Long story short; submit a support ticket they will fix it soon enough.

p.s. If you however do get an answer from your host how these changes came about I would like to know, out of curiosity.

Forgot and edvice: try to edit your rcon and your Admin Password if they sniffed the rcon password they could try to get on the server via ftp also edit your ftp passoword.

at the Ftp they can edit all nessesary files to change the server config.

changed all the stuff allready. but even the ftp access you are not able to change the slots and the name. you dont have access to the neccessary files.

Try saving your configuration file and restarting your server. Hfb and vilayer did this one time and thats what i had to do to fix my servers.
