resoula 23 Posted September 6, 2012 People really are right about it affecting your brain and your dreams especially. Since a few days after I started playing this, up til today, every night all I dream about is running around covered in ghille with a weapon, trying to kill off zombies and scavenge supplies with my friends. Even the intense moment of meeting another 'player' is there, when i see another person in my dream and cannot decide whether to trust them or kill them or run. It's a bit tiring on my mind, as these dreams make me wake up being pretty tired, as if i had just run many miles across forests to places and from zombies, but it's also quite....intriguing and...fun.I'm actually not sure why I posted this...I guess, just to say it? Any comments are welcome though.

Welch (DayZ) 756 Posted September 6, 2012 It's Rocket's secret plan. He's part of the Illuminati, silently infecting our minds and turning us into ruthless killers and scavengers to do the Enlightened Ones' biddings...

bluecrackers 175 Posted September 6, 2012 I hear you dude, I keep seeing things in real life that are in dayz and having a slight moment of "oh shit!" or "oh cool!".For example: it seems every time I see a toolbox irl nowadays I think "oh cool another tool to add to my belt!" or when I see a tractor I ponder taking it and using it as a mobile camp. resoula 23 Posted September 6, 2012 Your playing DayZ in your dreams.....But it's more like real life. Like there's no 3rd person. I feel exactly like myself, not like I'm in a game. It's all like..real life....but DayZ. In dreams. It's strange. Cause for the most part I'm just...trying to survive and help my friends. Yet that's exactly how I play the game too i guess...so I guess your dreams really do reflect your playing style.

Ipurgepeople 106 Posted September 6, 2012 (edited) I was driving down the road in the middle of nowhere on my way to town the other day, and as I drove past a corn field, I saw a DEER STAND near the trees.I've driven past that field hundreds of times, even WITHOUT any corn, and until I played DayZ I didn't notice that deer stand.I started slowing down to go loot it before I remembered I was alone, and started frantically looking around for other people. And then I realized that I was running late to the dentist. Numinak 10 Posted September 6, 2012 I find the issue comes up when playing other video games. Hell, I was playing Skyrim the other day, walked across some debrie that knocked about, and it sounded like a couple of gunshots. I instantly went to look around for the source before realizing I wasn't playing DayZ.It gets into your head!
resoula 23 Posted September 6, 2012 And these dreams flash in my vision randomly during the day too....I mean to most people I guess this would be quite unsettling and scary to most, just 'hallucinating' this kind of stuff during the day and waking up all tired due to dreaming about it all night. But I have a few strains of depression, one that causes hallucinations as well, so I'm quite used to this kind of thing already. And I guess this whole dream thing is like, a good incentive not to become a bandit huh? Dream about like..killing people or something. o_o
Welch (DayZ) 756 Posted September 6, 2012 Yeah, don't kill people for their loot in real life...
Post Hoc 30 Posted September 6, 2012 i stayed up for 46 hours once, played this game probably for 10-15 of those hours. Then i went to six flags....lets just say that on the way back EVERYTHING looked like chernarus, the landscape, the trees, the shrubbery, the barns. This game takes over your mind sometimes. Welch (DayZ) 756 Posted September 6, 2012 (edited) Fun fact: If you play video games for over 30 hours straight, then you have a high risk of dying if you keep playing! Edited September 6, 2012 by Welch
