I think the StandAlone and the mod need to prevent players from Spawning in within say 100 meters of a player structure.

I have sat for hours now and watched as players from other servers have spawned in prone in front of a tent in our base, grabbed stuff and instantly logged out to take the loot back to their own server, it completely nullifies the use of basic defensive like wire, sandbags and tank traps.

If a player spawns in and the game detects a tent or player structure within 100 meters it should push the players spawn in point out of the 100 meter area, this will prevent players from ghosting into camps, and prevent them from ghosting past wire and tank traps.

It's crazy having an item in the game thats totally redundant when all you need to do is hop server run 5 feet hop back and bingo your on the other side of a defensive wall that might have taken a player days to complete.

And if he realise that he spawned 100m away from his logout location? He will know that there must be something. so this wouldn't change anything

Just one question. Or suggestion perhaps. Players that CREATED the object would need an exception from this rule or else you would block off a base and then screw yourself over lol.

so i log out in cover, and the next day i log in amidst zombies, because some player decided to drop some sandbags close to my hiding place?

I'm sure that it being only 100 meters, if he some how misses a load of tents and wire fencing then he's probably not gona notice that his login position is a little off from his logout position, in fact he would need to be blind not to see a camp less than 100 meters away.

I am sure they could manage it so that its not going to drop a player in a zombie mosh pit, hardly a big issue!.

persistance of character data including location across servers is one of main game features. it creates certain issues, but has its own merits.

if i have a patient who is low on blood and bleeding (which happens quite often), i depend on his location information, because time is critical. if i have to search for him because someone dropped a sandbag somewhere within 100m radius, he probably will die.

if persistance across servers is an issue for you, there are many private servers which do not share character data with the hive, and thus character equipment and location are unique to that one server. on such a server, your fortifications will have the effect you desire.
