gavin0101 17 Posted September 5, 2012 I am experiencing awful stop motion lag! I have an Acer laptop with Intel pentium processor p6000 (1.86GHz, 3mb L3 cache), an Intel Hd Graphics cars. 3gb DDr3 memory, 250gb hdd. Any tips on how to get rid of this lag would be much appreciated. I have the game experience setting to "Very Low" and I still lag. I don't know what to do. GeordieMarv 293 Posted September 5, 2012 (edited) The specs of your laptop just arent good enough i'm affraid.Your going to need something more powerful than a 1.8Ghz Processor and a built in GFX card. :(I'd recommend at LEAST a 2.5 Ghz processor and a dedicated GFX card.MINUMUM SPECS FROM MY ARMA2 Box :-Dual core intel pentium 4 @ 3.0 Ghz, Intel core 2.0 GHz, AMD Athlon 3200+ or faster.Ram 1GBVideo card - NVidia GeForce 7800 / ATI Radeon 1800 or faster with 256mb ram.As i say these are the bare minimum specs. And your laptop doesnt even meet these. :( Edited September 5, 2012 by GeordieMarv

GeordieMarv 293 Posted September 5, 2012 (edited) Type dxdiag in the start button, and click display, write down ur display specs over hereIt doesnt matter what directx reports back.He has a built in GFX card. Because of this, this processor would ordinarily do "the brunt of the work".But as he also has a very low speed processor...it just isnt enough to compensate for having a shared GFX card. All he can do is run everything on the lowest settings and the lowest screen resolution that he can possibly get away with.No amount of tweaking is going to make it much better than what it currently is. Even at the lowest settin?Definitely Jeremy. Just be aware that if you do have a lot of lag, it can be the server and not your specs. So if you are playing and the performance is just not acceptable, try another server. The game should run very nicely on your rig.To OP gavin: What they already said. You aren't going to be able to play it on that system, unfortunately. :(
jeremy768 2 Posted September 5, 2012 Thanks HMS SO MUCH! can i ask even at the lowest settings, does the game graphics look okay? Or jus like some kind of 2d games ?
deathcon5 3 Posted September 5, 2012 Thanks HMS SO MUCH! can i ask even at the lowest settings, does the game graphics look okay? Or jus like some kind of 2d games ?Graphics are decent on low. Plenty good on medium. Be sure to use your monitor's native resolution for the best look. Just play with them and set them as high as you can where you never drop below 20 fps in the middle of a city.
HMS 115 Posted September 5, 2012 Thanks HMS SO MUCH! can i ask even at the lowest settings, does the game graphics look okay? Or jus like some kind of 2d games ?No problem Jeremy.I have to run mine with everything on lowest possible now - except for the video memory, which is set to high, because I have a card with a lot of vram. So, to answer how does it look: it does not look as bad as you might imagine. It's fairly good, I'd say. The only problem is that since the game draws details differently the further away you go, sometimes things can be deceiving.Example: a large rock in the woods. Normally, these are pretty smooth with rounded edges. From far away, say 200m, the edges are jagged. One looked like it had a peak on it. So I hoofed it over to investigate what I thought was a tent. The buddy who was with me must have thought I was high on drugs - which sort of matches my playstyle anyhow.:)
