How Realistic Are Shots?

I am getting bored, so I am thinking about just getting like a silenced m9 and waiting for a player to come along and break is legs. But I want to know if I can shoot his knee and it will break 100% of the time? OR does it have the same chance if I shoot him in the chest? I am not sure how accurate the shot spots are or if it is kinda just a chance thing... Thanks in advance.

I'm quite sure that each body part can represent a vital point. Since legs can be broken in DayZ, it would seem logical that a shot to the leg would instantly incapacitate the player. It's clear headshot's result in instant kill, and body shot's prove to be default damage.

as someone who just had someone dc on him @ nwairfield after getting shot once from my l85a2 I can tell you that the enjoyment of shooting someone in the leg would be removed by his insta alt+f4.

although I dont know why a 'bored' player would think waiting around hoping someone strolls by eventually would create some excitement, go on a server where a group/clan is playing and ambush them, park a car outside there camp booby trapped with a satchel and blow it up when they attempt to steal it, for the lulz

with shots to the leg I'm pretty sure at close range any bullet/door will break them, the chance my degrade with range

True Skrewy, could just go mess with some clans who like to run around. And idk I'd probably go hide in the church on a very high pop server no doubt I'd get someone, maybe put a Lee Enfield near the podium to draw them to it. Mwhahahaha.
