Carve 17 Posted September 6, 2012 (edited) The real problem is not having a symbolic link and/or copying AddOns folder from the Arma 2 folder (not Arma2 OA).An example of creating a link (saves space) would be:in Adminstrator level Command Prompt:mklink /D "C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma2 operation arrowhead\AddOns" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\AddOns"Which will basically make a shortcut like version of the Arma2 AddOns folder which will allow Arma 2 OA to utilize it as well as save you space from not having to copy the folder over. Take note that symbolic links I believe only work on Windows Vista and up (Windows 7, and of course Windows 8). This fixes the "CA_" based errors by the way. POSIPJ 8 Posted September 6, 2012 So, to fix the whole CA_whatever whatever errors, I used DayZ Commander to update Arma 2 to the latest patch, and download Lingor Island. DayZ Commander automatically puts the files where they need to go, so there's no need to do it manually. You can check and make sure it put them in the right places if you'd like. Okay, well, since I'm pretty much stupid when it comes to Steam, I completely forgot to run Steam as an administrator, verify my game caches (I don't know if that's necessary but it doesn't take long and it doesn't hurt) and launch Arma 2, Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead, and Arma 2: Combine Operations to finish doing the update. Yeah, you have to launch all three separately. I don't know why you have to do that just so it can tell you that you have a bad serial number even though you bought the game from the program you're launching it off, but whatever. A small price to pay to enjoy a rad game like DayZ. I did copy and paste the AddOns folder located in your Arma 2 (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2) into the Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead) Again, I really don't think that's necessary but it can't hurt. Then in Steam, I right clicked Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead, went to properties, clicked "Set Launch Options..." and copied and pasted this in the box. "-mod=@dayz_lingor_island;@dayz_lingor -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -winxp -nosplash -world=empty -maxmem=2047 -cpuCount=4 -exThreads=7" thanks Goodrita. Then I just double-clicked Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead in steam, selected "Launch Combine Operations" and I didn't get the error. So it ended up being a simple fix that I made way more complicated than it should have been. Hopefully that works for everyone. Yeah Byrgesen, just posting the solution was a lot easier than having people message me so I could tell them that. I wasn't thinking and I was in a rush. Let me know if that works for you guys though, although I think I was the last idiot to figure out how to make it work. :P
byrgesen 1341 Posted September 7, 2012 maxmemory, cpucount and exthread is not needed in the code after patch 1.6.2 as it should figure it out itself.Ive had performance increases both on the server and client by removing that code line, as have alot of people i know.
