From medical point of view

Recommended Posts

In my opinion survival mode is very closely related to medicine. Therefore I suggest to expand it a little bit.

First of the situation with broken bones really pisses me off. If you don't have a morphine you're gonna crawl till you die. Broken bones can be put together and fixed by putting a couple of sticks\bars\planks to the sides of the broken leg and tied together. This will temporaly allow a person to stand up and move, not kneel of course.

Then I think a firstaid kit should be added where not only bandages can be stored but instruments for wound managing, antibiotics, antiseptics, syringes, etc. It's kind of strange that a shot wound and bite wound are treated the same. One needs to take out a bullet and it's a painful procedure so painkillers would be required to do it, or lose health wile doing it, and then saw the wound for hemostasis, whereas bite wound would require antiseptics and a bandage for treatment.

I think essentially you are right, the medical side of things within the game could use a bit of work.

A first aid kit could be assembled and carried as it's own inventory/storage part of the player inventory. Also your point on broken ones is interesting too as you rightly say, a brace could be contructed to repair broken bones and allow walking again. For this though a crafting type of system would be needed, for example to use rope/string and solid long materials from the environment or inventory and "combine" them to form a brace.

Truly one of the best medical aspects suggested. +Beans

I would say that you should be able to walk again but not run/sprint until the broken bone is fixed...say 5 minutes after it's treated?

That would be really cool to add. I especially agree on the broken bones part. To add on too it, maybe when you make your makeshift thing to help with the broken bone, it can also slow down how fast you can run/walk.

Have you guys played Americans arma?

In that game you need to diagnose your self and actually rely on your own memory recall as to what treatment is needed, i think instead of the symbol comming up telling you what is injured, that you just be away you are (IE pain) and than have to proceed to diogasnose your self and then treat on what you think is the issue.

Would also put more emphasis on teamwork ,and sticking with team mates who are good medics.
