Arnoldio 2 Posted May 5, 2012 I registered mainly for this post as it was going through my head. Why is survivor model PMC and bandit KSK scout? Wouldnt it be better if survivors used various civilian skins, wich would add more socializing/checking targets AND easier recognition ie :"im the guy with the hat and yellow tshirt" etc.Now bandits use the silly KSK scout wich is completely out of place, i find cherno guerillas much more appropriate. It would be nice to have multiple models for everybody and game choses randomly, now its a bit pale.Loot around buildings, not just in. Now if its possible to do, it would benefit greatly i believe, to find loot in the viccinity of unenterable buildings.. nothing is more demoralising than finding a village full of zombies, just to see none of the houses are enterable.Animal zombies. Ofcourse keep the normal animals, but wouldnt be awesome to se a zombified sheep running towards you? Or a pack of them? :DFreerunning zombies. A random pack/packs of 5-10 zombies appears and runs randomly over the map. They have no target, until the normal spotting rules apply. Would make travelling more unpredictable and exciting.Noob protection. Since game saves, it could be implemented that the first 10-15 minutes of re/spawn, player cannot kill another player nor be killed.Character recognition. When approaching an unknown player, you have an option in the menu "Greet". If you do that, you will see his nametag up to the distances of 100m. So you actually make friends and know who you met before and who are the new guys etc. In real life, you know people by looking at them, and that is harder to do in games, hence this porposal. n7snk 13 Posted May 5, 2012 100% agree with first suggestion. random civ models will make sense, aswell as chedaki models for bandits. Afterall we are at post soviet country and i never seen anyone in desert camo walking around, nor pmc-alike people on streets ;)80% agree with 2nd suggestion. sometimes there is no buildings you can enter and thats a huge pain in ass.about 3rd suggestion: well animal zombies mod was the first thing that pop up in my mind after animals were introduced in arma 2 ( used to play zombie mod for arma 1 etc ) but i don't think thats really necessary ;pidk about 4thand i don't support 5th. life is cruel in zombiechernarussiathats my 5 cents~from Russia with love
rocket 16567 Posted May 5, 2012 Only some PMC, BAF, and OA models allow the use of backpacks. The ArmA2 default models cannot use backpacks.
skurcey 11 Posted May 5, 2012 @Rocket: Wouldnt it be possible to just add a proxy?
n7snk 13 Posted May 5, 2012 errrmm... then.. is that possible just to c/p whole civ models and add a line "allow backpacks" or someth? ;) afterall, i guess no1 mind if the size of mod will be increased
Alex (DayZ) 8 Posted May 5, 2012 I would enjoy seeing more variation on the clothing in game, I'd like to find various uniforms laying around that I could wear to disguise or otherwise develop my character with - I know its not supposed to be a roleplay heavy game but character development is a big thing for me. Even if we have to make sacrafices with backpacks there surely must be a workaround, no?
dut 21 Posted May 5, 2012 Extra textures for the models wouldn't increase the mod size that much and they could remain optional. With bump and specular channels it isn't hard to make a model look very different.
b00ce 5 Posted May 5, 2012 @Rocket: Wouldnt it be possible to just add a proxy? As much as I like the idea, it isn't that simple; he would need to include all of the models in the mod that he added the proxy to, though he could get away with not including the textures. If he were to include all the models of ArmA 2, the file size of the mod would skyrocket. As it stands, the mod is very compact and streamlined, the way it should be. Not only that, but it would be a bit of work; and not even the good kind of work, tedious repetitive work.
n7snk 13 Posted May 5, 2012 If he were to include all the models of ArmA 2' date=' the file size of the mod would skyrocket.[/quote']i really doubt that civs models will increase mod size way too much.even if it will be 700mb-1,5gb thats pretty okay size. Not only that' date=' but it would be a bit of work; and not even the good kind of work, tedious repetitive work.[/quote']well who said that it would not?afterall the point is enchanting current gameplay. this feature will rock and thats the point. even if thats a lot of routine it's still better then making models by your own.anyway. we post to let dev/devs know what we want. difficult or not / worth or not is up to devs.
