I just had the same issue

Parked my tractor 5 meters outside one of the really small one room industrials, came out and it was gone. It was NOT stolen, simply vanished.

I took a break from DayZ myself, starting fresh with my new machine in a couple of dayz (haha) :)

The problem is that you cant really judge where your car has gone in this buggy hell of hackers.

1. It could be stolen by a proper survivor, what would be absolutely ok and intended.

2. It could be respawned by a hacker. not cool

3. It could be just dissappeared to be never seen again. also absolutely not cool.

Atm the problem is, that point 2+3 have far higher chances :(

If you don't play often you can enjoy it more. I do that with most games; never try and grind to the end.

True that, same thing here... and I believe you forgot server restarts, can't even remember how many times I was stranded at the top of the map after server restarts.

This is the same old problem, alpha.. people expect a fully polished bug free game when they are really testing the game, not "playing it"

you should probably do what I do. When ever I fix up a vehicle or just steal one I don't try to take the main roads as much because of players near by that could probably hear me around the area. Once you reach your location and park your vehicle just get out and go stand like 40+ meters away from it and hide yourself. Wait about 4-5minutes if no one comes over then you should be fine. I've had that happen to me where a player was following me who was near by the area (vehicles are ALWAYS SO LOUD). I got off the truck and went to put some stuff in before I head over to the town to loot some supplies and I see a player 150 meters away running towards me. Another incident I wasn't able to prevent the player from getting into the vehicle and he started driving away. I threw my grenade to blow up the vehicle and the player =). If I can't have it NO ONE CAN.

To those who seem intent on raising their forum post count with the 'QQ more, rage on bro, waaah' garbage, please, go back to the OP and read it. I mean actually read it word for word. It's not the fact that a vehicle was stolen, teleported, eaten by server....just go re-read it.

For once I agree with Monster (I know! No offence there M), there is no rage, no QQ in the OP.

It's really amusing to me how much hate their can be in the forums. Clearly, my post wasn't complaining about the game. And I'm still checking the news everyday to find out when the stand-alone alone is hitting. I'm still interested in playing, it just doesn't have me hooked anymore.

I know this isn't a fully polished game. It's really not about the alpha-build HAVING bugs, it's about WHAT bugs there are. I saw there was a hotfix patch recently, so I updated my game and hopped in for a few minutes just to see if anyone had found my base and looted me, or a server restart wiped my gear. My stuff is mostly untouched to my surprise, but maybe 2 items were taken. I know one of my guns was taken, but it doesn't look like they touched the ammo.

I know that there are cheats out there where players can see where tents are, so I'm not so sure if I was found legit or not. It doesn't matter at this point and that's all I was saying. I kinda went on a bender with the game, invested a lot of mental energy into it, and finally snapped. It's still fun, it's still there, I'm just taking a break. When some of the more annoying bugs are gone, we'll all have a lot more fun.

what do you mean it's not marked on your map anywhere? trying to keep a vehicle on a recruit server (players/npcs/vehicles appear on map) is just ridiculous to begin with.

it's all the more satisfying when you get your vehicle back tbh & kill the person who stole it.. i've managed to on two seperate occasions , I was chasing after my UAZ on our server for ages but never got it back sadly, people used to sight it for me all the time, or the were winding me up, can't say for sure ;)..

I purposely died in-game after a fresh spawn just to see if I could spawn in a better "noob" location. I spawn a noob in and what do I find? My "noob" starts in a brand new location but he's got a broken leg and is bleeding out... WTF?

I just uninstalled this game. I wish you the best OP as I'm off to pwn noobs in GW2 where I can log in a level 1 noob and immediately go PvP with a max level 80 char and all its skills! Woot! Go Go GO ArenaNet!!!

That's a good point. It does seem weird for me to come say "I'm done while you are the people who are still playing." I came on to share my thoughts for three reasons: first, sharing your Day Z story is part of the experience (emergent gameplay and such). Second, feedback for the devs. I'm sure just about everything we post here helps them in one way or another. Third, I wanted to see what other people would say about my thoughts.

Obviously, some people think I'm being whiny. To an extent, I am. I'm mentioning a negative moment in the game. So to those who thought my intention was to whine "like a little noob bitch" I say unto thee...Day Z scratches a serious itch in my gaming tastes. I would not have put up with the other issues in this game if it didn't.

I appreciate all the well wishers. I'm not 100% gone. I'll be checking in for updates on the stand-alone and mod builds. I can't wait to see what shape the game takes in future updates.
