The random small island.

Could someone explain the purpose of this island? Other then a place for people to teleport players and kill them?

The one out in the middle of the ocean. Not reachable by swimming, and your boat might run out of gas before reaching it.

I used to fill up on food and water and head out there and just sit in one of the buildings aiming at the doors (am solo, so actually surviving is the most boring part) but even though I was inside the house with both doors shut and a lit fire besides me my temp' dropped and I got an infection.... So yea I wouldn't recommend that.

It homes one of the many downed chopper spawn points, and I even found a quad-bike there.... Entirely useless as the island is as good as baron and you can't get it off the bloody island :/

It's a good place to repair boats without docking at the mainland and risking bumping into other players.

We are talking about the south-east most island right?

Not the same. Its an island, about 100 feet across, 50 feet wide. Really small. Has absolutley NOTHING on it.

The reason was probably for missions, using it for a easy-set-up FOB base... other than that, you do have a point, why the hell is it there?

My friend and I finally made a trip out there just to say we'd been. A speed boat makes it easily with full fuel. There is most definitely nothing out there!

You can drive vehicles around on the island but any item dropped on the island will disappear and you cannot get it back, also if you place a tent you cannot see it or interact with it but it's collidable. There is also a similar island that's about twice the size at the very top right of the map if you're zoomed all the way out, same rules apply there but there are about 8-10 animals spawns on that island.

Also on another note if you're taking the chopper to the top right island and you fly along the coast you'll notice a bunch of interesting coastal land formations.

It's an island used in many missions for regular Arma2. Either as a capture point or as an airbase.

Remember DayZ is just one of the dozens of mods for Arma2 so lots of the landscape won't be used in DayZ.

I considered using it as a tent site, but the thought of a PBX resetting on me and leaving me stuck at the island would be problematic.
