M14 or DMR

Recommended Posts

So I have found both an M14 and a DMR.

I'm usually lone-wolfing it up North, keeping to the forests and looting deer stands and helicopter crashes, and the odd store.

I'm considering using one of these. Which one do you think would be best for my use?

M14 for sure it has good accuracy damage and a good sight for both long range and cqc

They use the same ammo, so I'd agree with Thunderpimp. Why not use both?

I'm an FAL man personally.

Both!

They both use the same clips, use M14 when you go into towns and avoids zombies and use the other for long distance.

m14 if you think sniping with nightvision is dumb.

Haven't tested, but I'm pretty sure the M14 works with NVGs.

Why not use both?

Because I need the space to loot. I'm not into hunting, only protection.

I'm an FAL man personally.

Why? That would be iron sights vs AIM.

I could write up a nice line about how the gun is shorter, and how I like burst action guns, but to be honest? I just like the character of the weapon. It's got that nice thudding sound when you fire it, and there's a certain appeal to the weapon for a gun-history buff.

honestly the m14 is only good against players, if you go into a town shooting that thing at zombies you will get sniped in minutes. id take the dmr since you can always hip spray it for close distance

^ What he said the m14 is too loud in towns and just attracts zombies + players, i say keep the dmr for distance and look out for an m4/ak74 for looting towns.

the m4 is also really loud, not dmr loud but its loud as hell. ak74 is good though and on full auto easy to take down players.

Old topic, but I would say neither. Keep an eye out for the M16A4 ACOG. I know it doesn't have the same power, but it has a zoom scope, can load STANAG SD rounds, holds more ammo, and is quieter in general. That is going to be your best choice (Just be careful around players. It does the job, but takes more thought into when and where you are).
