LiamFX (DayZ) 77 Posted September 1, 2012 Hey guys, i'll cut to the chase.I'm Not a new player and have been playing dayz for a month on a laptop which isn't great for gaming, i run it on low for pretty much everything but I didn't know where else to stick this so.I've not had a desktop for a few years now and haven't built a PC in about 4 so it's almost completely new to me but I'm trying to see if I can build a PC for about £500 ish to run Arma and obviously dayz.I have a half decent monitor and all the periphery stuff so it's just the tower I need.So if you guys could throw some ideas my way i'd be really greatful, cheersps, I dont mind whether I go AMD or intel, just something fiarly quick and in the price bracket! KennyNZ 121 Posted September 1, 2012 You really need to build it for ArmA 3 to be honest. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to build something that'd not going to be able to run arma 3 or standalone dayz which will be out in alpha at least by the end of the year apparently. Unless you plan on buying a better pc at christmas time or something.
LiamFX (DayZ) 77 Posted September 1, 2012 cheers for the link stranger and kenny, i pretty much heard that if your PC can run arma 2 reasonably well then yo ushould be able to run arma 3. that was straight from the developers too.
dcskill 117 Posted September 1, 2012 You can look to get something like this, but try for something a bit better. :)i7 with 3.2 GHz HD 5770 or better (preferably better like a 2gb card)500gb HDD8gb DDR3700w PSU
LiamFX (DayZ) 77 Posted September 1, 2012 dcskill I'm not sure that falls under the £500 build margin. nice though
Bat (DayZ) 230 Posted September 1, 2012 (edited) motherboard : MSI H77MA G43CPU : i5-3570KGPU : MSI Nvidia Geforce GTX 570 (if you're lucky enough to find a discounted one) or ATI radeon 7850ram : G.Skill 8 GBHDD : Seagate Barracuda 7200 SATA III 500 GoAntec HCG Series 620 WCooler Master Elite 310In my country (france) I can find this for about 720 €It would be an ideal config for Arma 2 at a reasonable price.(You can expect smooth gameplay with maxed out graphics at 40-50 FPS)(If you're too short on budget, go AMD and a GTX 560 TI graphic card, I guess you would reach 30 fps with high graphics)Edit :Also BIS at E3 had computer with a single GTX 570 for the Arma 3 showcases, I guess you're good for arma 3 with this config.
