Can I run Day z this way?

Recommended Posts

Had ARMA 2 for a while and wanted to get op Arrowhead to play day z.

Can I run it using the disc ARMA 2 and operation arrowhead on steam?

If so it it easy to do?

Cheers

I guess its possible, just make sure run both Arma II and Arma II: OA before installing DayZ to the Arrowhead directory.

Doesn't hurt to try? although if this is deciding whether you buy Arrowhead or not, I'd wait for somebody who's done this and succeeded/failed to reply.

I'm in a similar situation. I own Arma II on steam and I was wondering if by purchasing OA will be enough to play this mod or if I'd need to buy the CO as a package.

If anyone could tell me i'd appreciate it

yes you can as Arma is not a "steamworks" drm and can be run without steam running just like a retail version the wiki tells you how to install it

http://www.dayzwiki.com/wiki/How_to_install_DayZ#ARMA2_Mixed_copy_.28Retail_.2B_Steam.29

i recommend using dayzcommander and showing it the install paths to both arma2 and arma2oa

just make sure you run steam in admin mode to put the cd key into the registry

if you need any help pm me

hope this helps
