Name Changing and Repercussions

Hey there,

From what I know about DayZ, your character is stored at the hive and is registered to your CD-key.

If you were to change your name on your OA/Arma2 Profile, will it erase your hive character?

Or will the name simply swap, because it is linked to your cd-key?

You can have several profiles with different names, volume settings, graphic preferences, etc. As far as the hive saved persistent character, they are all the same and tied to cd key and guid.

I assume it's only GUID related as it's highly doubtful that servers would store a CD-KEY, otherwise hackers cheaters would just have to get their hands on a server to get large amounts of CD Keys.

Also, that's why a local server ban is GUID related only and can be bypassed by changing GUID.
