If you are just a casual player, you would not know if the weapon you get is scripted or not.

That's why you cannot ban players just because they pick up scripted weapons: it would lead to ban legitimate innocent people.

That is correct. But if you know for a solid fact that said gun is a hacked weapon, your no longer innocent. What really gets me about this is the people that whine to (and even threaten!) us mods and devs over hacked guns being in the game, when they openly admit to having one in their inventory right now! The hackers didnt make these camps filled with hacked guns, the players did. By picking them up and sending them round different servers by being shot. If everyone didnt take the "but rocket said" attitude we wouldnt have even a fraction of the problem we have now. Do the right thing and hide that body. I came across an SVD thermal the other day. The thought of taking it didnt even cross my mind. Took his gps though cheers pal !! :D

If a reset occurerd for the next 2 weeks we would get threads saying 'wtf all my stuff dissapeared' and 'why the reset was a bad idea' etc

Good solution will be a message "Using hacked equipment", and you drop the item on the ground, as son you take it, B.E client filter the items you take and take some actions :}

Is this possible, I think... client side actions, avoiding you to take weapons out of dayz equips

Just give them 30s once their setup is complete, kick them if they carry an item they're not supposed to and list which one as a reason.

Leave the bans for hackers and intolerant and racist people, not the uninformed and easily tempted people.

If it's in the game and you didn't put it there, then it's part of the game.
