1.7.0 - Unstable/Test build (latest)

1.7 has a few issues atm but generally you have faster logins, also 1.7 from what I recall requires beta installed to work

1.6.0 is relatively stable but servers are becoming rarer.

really up to you. if you have trouble getting beta working you might want to use 1.6

if you feel like living on the ragged edge. use 1.7

True, but when he said " Rare" , he meant it.

I mean if there are 45 Servers with 50/50 people in them, 38-40 Of them are running 1.7.

1.7 seems to work better for me and my friends, but you need the latest beta patch for arma 2, and some tweaking to get it to work right, but it loads a lot faster and have had minimal issues.

You don't need the beta patch to run 1.7

It works fine for me without, and there's plenty of servers running 1.7 and no beta patches.

I've heard people saying that they can't find backpacks in 1.7, but that doesn't seem to be a problem for me, as I'm finding plenty. I've definitely seen less ALICE packs than in 1.6.1, but getting one wasn't a problem.

What I can't find are concertina wire, toolboxes and entrenchment tools.

So yeah. 1.7 does have its problems, but it's worth it IMO, as it is still very playable.
