Quick question on finding morphine and medical supplies

So I somehow managed to forget morphine during my looting of elektro before I headed north. I took a hit from a zombie in Novy and now I have a broken leg.

I'm not ridiculously geared, but I'd prefer not to have to waste all that time running north again.

How frequently does morphine spawn in the military tents in stary? I've only been to stary once and I wasnt looking for morphine. Are any of the tents in stary medical tents?

Dayz wiki just says "it spawns everywhere" with an emphasis on hospitals.

It spawns fairly regularly there, though there's no guarantee. Might be worth a shot.

Haven't found it once in Stary. Once crawled for 3 hours to find morphine. No exaggeration. I never quit.

I always keep 2+ morphine on me at all times. And 2+ painkillers. And 2+ bandages. And 2+ Blood bags. No epi-pens though, they're ugly.

all military spawns have like a 1.89% for morphine (its some kind of really low %)

edit: tents have a 1.91% for medical loot; then 21.74% for the morphine

and the one i was thinking of, military spawn points have a 47.80% chance for military loot; with a 0.99% for morphine

This isn't really an answer seeing as one has already been stated , but make sure you are rolling whilst holding W when trying to get around with a broken leg. This makes you go slightly faster, not sprinting faster, but noticeable enough.

I had heard that might help. So, you hold W while you roll? Not tap it?

Thanks for the help though, its going to be a long roll to stary from novy. Better than rolling to cherno though :)

its not a 21% chance for morphine

you need the 1.91% chance for medical loot to appear in the tents, then in that loot pile you have a 21.74% chance of morphine being in it.

Oh okay, I was a bit confused at first. I looked on the dayz db map - where are you finding the percentages?

This is on a private hive, I doubt the medic force would be able to rescue me. Besides, I'd prefer to do it on my own anyway.

Yeah I would suggest posting in the medical assistance thread or asking a friend to run a fetch for you. We play in a group of 3 to 4 and every other weak one of us plays solo and ends up in a barn with a broken leg and almost no blood.

you should always carry 2 morphines with you,and everytime you use one you should have as a quick goal to loot a hospital and take more morphine.never go far from a city if you have no morphine on you.even if you survive from zombies,you never know when a lag spike will throw you off a barn's stairs and break your legs.now,try to crawl,or ask someone for help.don't give up,dont waste your time running north again

Thanks for the advice. Normally, I do carry morphine (who wouldn't?) but on this life I found an ATV on the coast and immediately booked it north, completely forgetting to gear up with medical supplies in elektro before heading out. At some point I lost the ATV.

So, I thought I should update this with the hilarious outcome that happened last night. I spawned in and started making my way to the western edge of novy by rolling. Heard some shots, took cover (well, its not like I could get any lower to the ground). I was also chatting with some friends on teamspeak from the same server, one says he is in Mogil and can head up to me, but it will be awhile. Awesome.

Managed to crawl to a deer stand. Was about to crawl across the field when I saw 2 players running with a big old train of zombies. They were just out if range of the enfield. I calculated that if I shot at them and missed, they would know my position and I couldn't move very fast, so I let them go. Stayed in my strategic position waiting for my friend and scanning for hostiles.

He finally makes it up to me. Morphines me, good to go. Where do you want to go now?, I ask. 'Dunno, I only have an AK Kobra'. So I said "lets get you some good gear. We'll hit the next deer stand, then hit stary". "Sounds good" he says.

Get to the next deer stand. One military zombie aggros on us and I kill him with my 1911. Go to loot the body.

HAHAHA. Just for future reference I have seen morphine in the hangers in NWAF and in those large industrial sheds with the normal door on the left side and the large roller doors on the right side, Also in those really crappy industrial buildings that spawn barbed wire and other craptastic items, though this has only happened to me once in each.

I prefer to constantly vault when I have a broken leg. It makes me laugh every time.

I've only been caught once with a broken leg and without morphine. Another player shot me in the legs with a M4 SD in the middle of nowhere and then HE alt-f4-ed! Never understood why he did that since he could have easily finished me off. I nearly bled out waiting to bandage myself because I didnt want to stand and give him another easy shot. Spent an hour tracking and cooking a couple of boars to get my blood back up. That's no fun with broken legs. I was far from any city with a hospital but, I did a mental calculation and figured it was better to crawl my ass all the way straight to Berezino to the hospital where I'd almost certainly find morphine rather than take the small chance of finding some at military spawns criss crossing all over the map. Took me about two hours of crawling, but I made it. My heart was really pumping the last 1000 meters. "Please don't let me die now." Took a few re-tries on the hospital ladder since I kept falling back into prone at the top and getting stuck. It was a haul, but a nice sense of satisfaction when I finally did it.

Aside from moving so slowly, the other pain the the ass is that it's harder to navigate when your LOS is so low to the ground.

Needless to say, I learned my lesson and I don't take any chances with morhpine now and stay well stocked.

Yeah, I definitely learned my lesson about carrying morphine. Top priority now on a fresh spawn.
