New Locations or Buildings for Standalone

Sorry, i am bored at work.

We know they are producing a Chernarus Plus, with more enterable buildings and what not. My question is what sort of enterable/explorable buildings do you think we should get?

For me, i would love to explore underground military bunkers, a large docked ship and a prison.

Actually a very fair suggestion. The prison and ship sound good, but the underground thing people have been asking for instances and what not, its stating to get annoying, but it would be a good idea if people stop comparing this to wow.

Since Chernarus IS a post-soviet area of sorts, and mapped accordingly to landscapes, I would personally like to see some underground silos and military bunkers. It may be pushing it, and a bit out there, but i'd also love to see some dark caves in various places. Some fun, or not so fun, to explore and would be extremely satisfying to lure people inside!

I wouldnt want these locations to be instanced.

How about a nuclear facility? A car factory?

Why would you even want them to be instanced? That's like asking for Cherno or Elektro to be instanced as well. It would take so much away from the game knowing you could go into an area and not have any other living players that would possibly kill you on the spot.

I know that Rocket wants to instance the undergorund player bases but nothing else should be instanced. You are right, it would ruin the experience,

I just hope the new stuff lives up to the quality of the Chernarus map, and I hope that the implementation of the instanced stuff isn't as half-assed as Rocket makes it sound in his interviews..

I also hope that we keep the "urban legend" type stuff, I love how Green Mountain has it's whole mythology being built around it and how unexplainable things happen from time to time.

Finally, I hope that they fix the models leaking into buildings and other graphical issues that are present, but that nobody ever seems to mention.

(NWAF cargo containers clipping through hangers, trees clipping into buildings, etc..)

Other than that, I'm just glad that I will still have somewhat of a clue where I'm going in the stand-alone. :)

The whole game is about the players doing what they want, not some group friendly bronie fuck barrier, even player bases shouldn't be. I want to stumble upon a hatch buried under the ground, open it and walk in to find 3 gents sitting down having afternoon tea steaks and mountain dew and open up on them with my saw. :D

I know it is asking a lot but having as much variety as possible is key. How many enterable building types are there in Chernarus at the moment? A dozen? Even a change in colour makes a difference to being able to see the same red bricked house all the time.

What about a golf course? Submarine base? Open Pit or underground mine? You could literally fill the landscape with interesting and variable places.

And yes, expand on the Green Mountain myth.

Considering it is going to hit standalone, I assume that a overwhelming majority of buildings will be enter-able. In the same aspect, house coloring is probably going to be revamped as well due to having more models to create and work with. The old Chernarus terrain will probably be revamped as well. The only thing we can safely assume is that the towns will still have the same feel to them as before, but with a better paint-job and more buildings.

All speculation on my end, but that's how i'm seeing it currently.

I can understand instanced bases to prevent ghosting, but as far as locations/other buildings go i am sure this isnt on the cards.

Now i am not too sure due to geographic reasons but coming across a huge mansion could be fun. I remember seeing the mansion in Fallout 3 Point Lookout and thinking it was pretty creepy and cool.

How about an offshore oil rig, miles out to see, but visible on the horizon? Its been mentioned before but the same could be done with an aircraft carrier.

yeah the underground areas would be linked to the normal world in real time no loading screen nothing. This is not wow but we could use more in depth building or areas to search / banker in.

Yeah I agree, as little as possible being instanced would be the way to go.

What I'd like to see around the world are these;

- A dry dock

- Massive shopping centre

- Apartment/Office skyscrapers (would need a large city)

- A civilian airport

- Beached oil tankers

- Offshore cargo ships

- A small arms factory

- Gun shops

Can't think of more off the top of my head...

Ships, definitely. What the fuck happened to all of the shipping ? Same with the airfields, surely there were a few bigger aircraft down for maintanence. I gather from what has been said by Rocket a few times that we can expect a fuller world , not something as empty and dead as we have now.

I am hoping for more atmospheric enviromental type stuff like running creeks with the ability to fish for example. Having your fire go out of control and catch the surrounding area alight if you do not keep the fire surrounded by rocks..there could definitely be a downside with that lol. Someone sniping in a building floor above you, stack some wood and light that place up :) of course it should not be an instant blaze..Cherno scorched in the first 2 minutes on every server. Maybe the fire is a bad idea.

I think it's important not to turn the map into an amusement park. All your suggestions are great but the majority of areas should be very ordinary residential/commercial districts to retain a sense of reality "grittiness."
