Stand Alone v Mod

Hey, I know you guys can't give me a Accurate answer but I have a question. Me and my friend play FPS/Survival Games together for fun. We want to get into Day Z. But we heard it was Going to be a standalone game. Obviously it's going to be Cheaper then Arma II when it comes out but we want to play and don't want to wait for a year if it is going to take that long. But we don't want to buy Arma II for $30 not to me mention Arma III coming out 2013. So my question is how long do you think it will take for it to become StandAlone. And also if we where to buy Arma II for $30 will it get the same updates as the Stand alone game? I'm afraid they will let one die. And also will there be a performance difference or Graphics.

Rocket said it will come out in November. That's the alpha-release, not the full thing of course.

Any Performance Differences? Also will they update them equally ? That's what I really want to know if anyone has a clue.

Arma 3 comes out this year.So does day z, hopefully Quarter 4 of this year just like Arma 3 and we are in quarter 4, so not long. Arma 2 is worth buying (CO) because its not just dayz you play with it, you can play normal arma, arma oa, arma with other mods as, ace, invasion1944, project reality.Just buy it, $30 is hardly much to ask for this great game.

Ok Ya but the point I was trying to get on Will they be supported Equaly? Or will they let the "Mod" one die off as they work on the New Stand Alone game.

Rocket has said the MOD will still get updates ect do the MOD won't die off any time soon.

The standalone will take priority, but the mod will probably be used to test changes before they get implemented.
