Disarray

A Simple Question.

Why all the naked hostility?

That is what I want to know. Aside from the hackers this unbridaled blood lust displayd by many in the game is the most unenjoyable part of the game for me. Don't get me wrong, now, I don't want everyone to hold hands, sing Kumbaiah or skip gaylie thrugh the tulips. An example will, perhaps, illistrate my point:

I was in Cherno, just spawned in not 5 min earlyer and was looking for some stuff. Having played for a while I knew that the best stuff I can get to quickly is in Cherno so I head that way. The first place I see worth looting is the grocery, I have found some decent starter gear there in the past and try my luck once more. I go in and see someone in the back. Now recall that I had just spwaned in and am clearly unarmed and most asureadly not deadly in any way. The guy sees me and as I am typing "Hi" he empties a revolver into my face.

This just seems unesicary. Bandits are little better in this respec; though I was held at gunpoint and robbed once. I was unarmed and all he got off me was a bandage. A most agreeable chap I may say; he let me live beacouse I cooperated with him. Why can't we have more like him? Or dare I say people that will cooperate with oneanother without being held at gunpoint even! A gun fight is well and good, I can't say no to a good chalanging gun fight, but can't we agree to leave those who are unarmed out of it, unleast untill they become armed, and leave behind this naked agression?

This has actually improved considerably since the introduction of the skins and bringing back Humanity. However you still get either kids or really bored geared people hunting in Cherno/Electro. My advice to you is to simply avoid both of these cities entirely. When Im bored for feeling daring then I will head there when fresh spawning but I know the risks, its basically shoot on sight there and this wont change. Avoid them and you will be fine.

However... personally, I think it doesnt matter where you go, 9/10 of my deaths are due to someone shooting me in the back, very very rarely have I met someone and we avoided each other.

What he say, but i think... it getting better with the KOS (Thanks,, Humanity and Skins).

But only slow ... but there are more and more survivors for working together as before ... and less backstabbing.

Imo killing another survivor for gear etc, or in self defense is kinda a no brainer, ofc it will happen. and properly also in a real survival situation.. but i like to think that ppl are stronger in numbers, especially in a zombie infested world.. that being said... ofc a good gunfight is fun, also if i even die from it ( wich happens quite a lot ). but one thing i think is really twisted is survivors killing other totally unarmed survivors, that properly doesnt even have stuff on them.

Imo. ppl that kill unarmed players are really morally misguided, because they dont really gain anything except that a counter named "Murders" goes up with 1. i mean are ppl really that number horny they kill another totally unarmed player for a fucking number in the debug screen.. sadly in many cases the answer is yes...

But i must also say i see alot of cool players out there, many who have killed me in a good gun fight. some ppl actually help eachother in the game, and not only their irl friends. but other totally random players.. i think that is nice..

and just to be clear.. im not QQ'ing over murders, because i think its a part of the game, and also something that makes the game fun. I just think its wierd to kill an unarmed player wich clearly isnt a threat in anyway, just so a freakin counter goes up a notch.. And sadly in many cases the players that kill unarmed survivors properly sit at home thinking "OMFG im such a badass... fuck yeah. i killed a guy".. but thats just my theory :)

but like the guys before me said, it is getting better :), so there is always light at the end of the tunnel basically...

Peace out.

Come to think of it, all the people I've shot, I've shot in the face. It's something special about seeing the look in the other guy's eyes before his life fades away. Oh, memories... I'm working on becoming a hero now, though. Quite a challenge!

I once shot a guy who only had a torch out. I had only played Day Z for a few days. It was a tense moment, I was in pitch black night and genuinely feared for my survivors life (I wrote a story about it a couple of months ago if you fancy a read). After that though I never shot another player unless I was under threat or duress from them.

Last patch it was because there was too much gear.

Now it's because you can't store any of your gear or vehicles. Too much storage and death is inconsequential. Too little storage and you don't have much reason not to give in to homicidal nihilism.

Toft, you and I are of a mind here. I can't figure out why pepole kill an unarmed person in the game, even an underarmed person is a bit confusing to me. The situations I find myself enjoying the most are those where everything is right on the edge of catastrophy; I have a decent weapon, maybe an AKM or M16 and a few mags (Hell an Enfield seems decent enuf to me when I'm feeling adventurous), there is another survivor about who is armed about as well as I am from the sound of the shots. So I go investagate, could be a cool guy overthere to pall about with for a few hours, and if nothing else it will be a good fight, or a propper ambush if I'm in for a bit of skull duggery, but at the least he is armed and can present a threat if it comes to that. Killing the guy with a Macarov, or worse yet nothing, dosen't realy do it for me. Maybe I'm deranged.

But if it is getting better perhaps there is hope. Come to think of it I have survived more of the encounters I've had than normal of late.

Actually I'm good. I'm about 1000+. But then again, I only have three kills and wounded two. Oh, and I'm pretty sure I wounded the feelings of that guy in the helicopter...

Trying to become a hero now, but being a lone wolf it's a lot of work.

Yeah, I've been stuck at 4960 for almost a week now. It's driving me up the wall.
