Skat3rat 1633 Posted August 27, 2012 So I got a question about Veteran servers. I've read that it is best to play on them so people can't see your nametage and distance. But I was wondering, does playing on a Veteran server mean I can get killed easier? Both by player and zombie?
Max Planck 7174 Posted August 27, 2012 Being killed by players is mainly a case of being in the wrong spot at the wrong time. Tags and distance markers does make it easier for people to shoot you from a long range though, and as far as I know hacking is more rampant on recruit servers.I prefer playing without crosshairs and such things because it really kills the immersion for me. I guess it is mostly a matter of taste.
ScottyTheEngineer 47 Posted August 27, 2012 The server difficulty settings refer to certain game mechanics and whether they can be changed by the admin or not. Take a look at http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/server.armaprofile#Arrowhead. According to BI, the nameplates are disabled on veteran servers and cannot be enabled by the admins. But afaik zombie AI does not depend on the server difficulty settings, since there is no variable for that in this file.
