daytime/night time

Recommended Posts

seriously dayz is like screwed up. im not really complaining but just wondering why i join a server and it says 2:30 and i get in and its dark. and vice versa, midnight and itll be daytime. now THATS not realistic. im just wondering why this is? i dont have NVG's so it takes me longer until i can start playing because i have to try a few different servers. and switching the gamma crap looks ugly to me and doesnt help that much.

if i switch my filter to day only on commander, then dammit it should be daytime!! <_<

DayZ Commander relies on assumptions that it has to make about server time. ARMA2 servers don't report their in game clocks via server queries. As such, DayZ Commander can never be guaranteed accurate. I'm not entirely sure how it assesses the time. I imagine it could be from reading the time offsets from the server's description. In such a case, if the server's admin is lazy and didn't keep it accurate then DayZ Commander will be wrong.

DayZ Commander can never know for sure. Sorry.

I realized the time displayed on DayZ Commander isn't always accurate when I logged into a server said to be around 7:00 pm, and it was the crack of dawn.

DayZ Commander gives the time which is mentioned in the server name, e.g. xxxx UTC+5. If a server admin changes the time without updating the server name then you might end up on a nighttime server although DayZ Commander says otherwise.

This annoyed the hell out of me until I decided to check it in the FAQ of DayZ Commander
