I admire the sentiment, but you know as well as I do that very few players anymore will identify your primary weapon before deciding whether or not to engage you. Here's hoping the standalone makes your style of play the most common.

I actually came across this myself today, where a guy that was hacking was gonna give me gear. He spawned boxes, said to take whatever, I politely declined and started running off, he killed me, saying he was just helping me. Now, if I had taken gear, would he have killed me? I don't know, but basically, I agree. I'll take stuff from friends or maybe even people if it's legit, like they are offering some supplies or whatever, but I don't want all the best gear just given to me. The majority of the game is about survival, I actually enjoy searching for stuff.

I'm less concerned about being shot more (as maxgor says above) a fun bit of the game is suddenly removed.

And your right, many don't need any excuse but having a coyote backpack and a BFG could change a few minds, and being a friendly medic, I don't think equipping opportunistic serial killers with high calibre weapons is a very good idea... for some strange reason..

A good medic kit, for me, is an AKM and a PDW. I'll carry two AKM mags and two MP5SD mags, so I can have eight bandages in my secondary inventory and still use the PDW for killing single zombies without catching others' attention. AKM's probably the best gun in the game. Easy to find and feed, aces the zombies and holds it own in PvP out to decent range. Then my whole backback and most of my inventory is free for medicine and some food.
