malau (DayZ) 36 Posted September 5, 2012 Let me clarify for you.Player has an 1866. Player visibly has an 1866, player is 600M away killing you with one shot that sounds a lot like an AS50 NATO round. You die from 600m away, player RPT shows no weapons in the players inventory but an 1866 and a 1911 secondary. This is not unusual, its happening quite commonly these days.I thought the DayZ Draw Distance was deliberately limited to something like 400-500m ?? Would a player even register onscreen from 600m away ?
kebman 213 Posted September 5, 2012 Jezuz, guys! I've had a Winnie and found a M107 in a heli crash. Would I be banned too? Wtf, a guy with all end game equipment is more believable? Having X in your packpack, especially when it's legal, low tier weapons isn't enough proof to ban a player. Just get over it!However, if there are other hacked items in the inventory, sure, ban his ass. Could be he found a cache, but then he should have known better and left it alone - buried it, demolished it, or whatever. Imagine how much better the world would be if you could just put people into jail without evidence. Hell, why stop there. Why don't we just shoot all the guys we don't trust... OMG wait a minute!
dallas 5195 Posted September 5, 2012 Hopefully since the standalone is confirmed, the statement Rocket wanted to make has been spread and heard. Which was the reason the mod had to be locked down by so strict rules initially. Since private hives have received their own subforum on these boards, we're closing in on the standalone, I can't see why official servers can't be given a little latitude dealing with people injecting scripts or carrying hacked gear. He/she had no backpack or other items, just a single shotgun.Perhaps you should read instead of jumping to conclusions with a lack of information.
