vacalouca 86 Posted August 26, 2012 Hi folks, i played on a server with these settings below and they really work, I read that many were not possible in the mod but I tested and proved they really are, the server was private, I will not post links, but I believe that many should know, my question is does not even have a way to implement this in the normal servers?SERVER MECHANICS!Our server isen't like every other server, and there are some things you need to know!First off, when you log off, no matter if you abort, ALT-F4 or pull your plug... Your character stays in the game for 30 seconds! Disconnecting from combat won't save you.Going out of bounds, that is leaving the map will result in your immediate, automagical death. It's quite easy to tell where the map ends, as there are no trees and no grass. Any vehicles or tents found outside the map borders will also be destroyed and relocated randomly upon server restart.Vehicles left unused for 7 days will be reset to their original condition. Sandbags, Wirefences and Tanktraps will be removed 7 days after their placement date.Tents left empty for 48 hours may get deleted without warning..Auto Save to prevent duping itens. This really possible only on privates servers? Kawllie 18 Posted August 26, 2012 I want this on every server.
TheMachine 803 Posted August 26, 2012 If that can actually work, there's no reason for it not to be in DayZ.
gywidion@msn.com 80 Posted August 26, 2012 I am sure it is doable. The logout deal is a staple of MMO's. So it should be possible. I'd love to see it implemented in a stealth patch though, would make for some hilarity for a few hours till folks caught on.

nucleqrwinter@gmail.com 156 Posted August 26, 2012 (edited) You'd be surprised how many of the problems that Rocket deemed impossible to fix in the mod actually already have been fixed by the community on private servers. Or could be fixed in the future. The thing is, you got this guy who's a private server admin who has, what, 50 players everyday? And if people don't like his server they'll just leave and pick another. But imagine THE HOLY SHITSTORM that a 30 seconds timer would provoke if it were forced on everybody, people would find excuses "We need to be able to alt F4 or the hackers will win!" (So cheesy, right?) "I often disconnect just in case when I go take a dump, do I have to hold my shit in for 30 seconds everytime?!!"Let them get used to it for long enough and people will do whatever it takes to protect their right to exploit game mechanics, glitches and bugs.People want to duplicate, they want to hoard vehicles out of the map, they want to play DayZ the way it's not meant to be played because it's the only way to beat it. The_Albatros 72 Posted August 26, 2012 I think the current version of Lingor has a 60s disconnect delay implemented. When you leave, your character is replaced by an AI that will just sit there for 60s.
gywidion@msn.com 80 Posted August 26, 2012 Well on humanity. They said it was there in the background and would be used later. So not really a surprise there.
Erik (DayZ) 61 Posted August 26, 2012 I hope they'll implement these functions in the stand-alone

MRJOEYBON 18 Posted August 26, 2012 I could see that 30 second thing really screwing people over. It's great for pvp, but not so great when you have to leave really quick and there isn't time to wipe out every zombie in the area. I can walk into a building with no zombies in it and log off, but what's to stop one from waltzing in after me and slapping me across the face, opening a ten inch wound that refuses to scab over before I disappear? director 12 Posted August 26, 2012 if zombie cant see you he wont come in house. even if he see you trough wall, he wont come in 30 sec for sure. Only if you use disconect to evade zombies this rule will afects you, but that is good thing becouse that is also one way of cheating.

The only thing you want is for the positive effect to be more important than the negative effect. Simple as that. Then it all comes down to opinions.
