Thorne (DayZ) 10 Posted August 26, 2012 The hypocrisy is that most DayZ clans will gladly accept hackers, in fact they welcome them, but not players under eighteen. My advice is to simply play with your friends.
atombrain 9 Posted August 26, 2012 It's like the op never met another annoying kid before. Generally it's easier not let any teenagers join rather than create a problem within the clan and have decent players leave because there's one bad kid screaming into the mic bugging everybody. This game requires patience, something teenagers don't really have so they just run around and screw everything up for everyone. However, I'm willing to bet that if you are a decent player and don't yell into the mic and are a team-player then your age would never come up as an issue. You are judge by the lowest common denominator of your group.
sostronk 334 Posted August 26, 2012 15 year olds can't hold real life conversations, because they haven't experienced real life yet. Even if they are mature and decent, adults prefer to have adult conversations. It's not all about "maturity".
Lupin-III 44 Posted August 26, 2012 Because the vast majority of the youth are extremely immature. Someone trying to achieve a mature experience does not want to play with anyone immature, young or old. Also, in my experience all age limits have an exception where if someone shows enough maturity they will be accepted into the unit. Just get on teamspeak/skype/whatever with them and let them know who you are.To be fair, there's no more maturity in gamers after the age of 15 than there is before it.
GiggityGump 41 Posted August 26, 2012 To be fair, there's no more maturity in gamers after the age of 15 than there is before it.YouTube proves that many times over. Honestly, I don't care about your age. If you're annoying, you're annoying. If you're not, you're not. But I do agree that it can be kind of awkward for some to play with people much younger than them. As far as clans and groups go, anything to do with games that requires me to apply to join or be recruited etc., I'm not interested. That's just something that isn't for me. I guess that I can kind of understand the reasons behind it, but I'll leave it to others. There are enough rules to life without following someone else's in a game that lets you play pretty much how you want.

gywidion@msn.com 80 Posted August 26, 2012 Just look for one who judges you based on you and not your age, simple as that.
The_Albatros 72 Posted August 26, 2012 It's because you're a little kid.If you're getting so pissed about it, maybe stop telling people you're a little kid. -_-
ZlobaRUS54 441 Posted August 26, 2012 There are exceptions to every rule but as adults with limited play time it's easier to just weed pout statistically immature age groups then to take a chance on you being a rare exception.
aussiestig 681 Posted August 26, 2012 I've spent like the past few years with the same mentality. I've had a few players join my clan recently, and if I'm honest I understand it.I've got a friend that is 13 and is very mature, listens to all instructions, doesn't say stupid shit. Then I had another one that joined my clan and he insisted on shouting out everything that he found and did in game while in a team speak with 10 other people.I'm fine with people 15 or over though, as 99% of them are mature. puppetworx 474 Posted August 26, 2012 Just lie about your age. I've met some people in games who have shocked me with their age which if I had known upfront I would've written them off. You will probably have to live the lie though because I usually block anyone I meet in games who turns out to be younger then 18. I find hanging out with school age kids to be creepy as fuck and is generally frowned upon by adults, just so you know.

And now the opposite. Our group has players older than 18, i don't think we have a minor in the group...( they act on their own, act rash, don't listen to tips, do the opposite of what you say to stay alive, they can't manage their in-game resources, they do things on the whim...they know they are unexperienced in ArmA 2 pvp but they still won't listen...i won't help them anymore until they are tired of dying all the time ( which will happen soon because they are beeing "tested" ), i just say "See what happens?" Sometimes you think you are in a kindergarden. So much for "age and maturity"...
angelomnipotent 28 Posted August 26, 2012 I am on a phone. This does not help the situation. That doesn't matter, surely? I make 90% of forum posts using my phone, but it's not an excuse not to spell check. Using the "phone excuse" for being lazy is one of those things that irks me.
