Vehicles, tents, and server restarts

Recommended Posts

First off, I want to say i play in a group of 4 people, and we absolutely LOVE this game, and the tactical aspect of it. At the moment, we are looking for more vehicles and car parts, as owning a vehicle makes the game 10 times faster and more enjoyable then running everywhere. That being said, every time we get a vehicle (we have found A LOT), next server restart it ends up disappearing anyways. Also, our tents we put all of our gear in (a bunch of gear we value, like NVGs, and rare guns) also disappear when the server restarts, leaving us with only the items on our backs. This takes the joy and motivation to look for vehicles, if they are going to disappear in a few hours anyways. Without vehicles, the game isn't nearly as enjoyable and really, even over hackers, i think this problem should be the first priority because anyone who plays the game and spends time getting gear and vehicles, is only rewarded with it being taken away. Thank you for reading, and comment if you have anything to add, or agree with me.

Yeah this happened a lot on the server I played often, I finally got tired searching for vehicles and fixing them over and over. Imma try find myself a good 1.7.2.4 server see if its better. IMO current version of DayZ sucks due to that despawning vehicles and lost of items in tents.

Saving tents only seems to work on a fresh tent you just placed. And even then it will only save one and not update the saved contents next restart.

As far as I know there are specific save intervalls, if you miss them the gear will not be saved. Same with vehicles. The exact timing between the saving intervals is unknown. But its likely more then 30 minutes. There is no point in driving around if the server restarts in about an hour or something because you dont know when it was saved the last time. Rocket mentioned it in some tent thread. Cant find it again though but you can imagine it like the server saves your stuff every hour (thats just random guessing) and you have to try to catch the right time. We lost dozens of vehicles because of sudden server restarts and we spawning at the place we lost connection but the vehicle is just somewhere 2000m away where it had its last forced savepoint.

The tents are probably the main reason that made me stop playing for a few weeks.

I'm waiting for a fix of some kind, it's really sad, i have everything i could possibly want, so the tents at this point are like a new objective or something like that, and they just won't save anything.

Lost a lot of stuff at the first time i tried, i was dumb to put so many things inside it instead of just one can or something.

Now i'm kinda waiting, i don't know about the vehicles since i only have a bike, and so far it's saving properly (but i don't know, maybe it's just the bike?).

Yeah, we have saved countless times but it still doesn't help. Maybe it's different for every server? Does anyone know if some servers have a better memory for vehicles and tents then others? I don't see why they would, but who knows... getting really annoying and making the game pointless to play until this is fixed.
