Parties/Usernames

Don't know how possible this is because I don't know the extent of these mods but i think it would be nice to be able to make actual parties and have your name show to the other party members.

I know some of you might say "oh well that's not realistic"

but..

neither is having 50 people that have the same exact face/body.

This would bring the team portion of the game to a whole new level.

I oppose this. Reason being, is I feel that the alienated and isolated feeling you get by yourself, not knowing who to trust, what is near, etc. is a major and appealing aspect of this mod. Correct me if I'm wrong, but walking through a forest by yourself is much scarier than with someone else.

i.e. This is often why co-op horror games fail miserably.

I believe it might remove an important core feature of the game. Perhaps a server mode would work, and the option to turn it on or off. Creating teams in-game changes the games goal in a different direction than self-reliant survival.

yes but this also introduces another form of role play and teamwork

if anything it would be nice to have different clothes like others have mentioned just to tell a different in some way.

It would be nice to have a recognizable option to tell friends from foes. My groups been forced to pick a unique skin and glasses combo to help with identification. It makes perfect sense to be able to recognize friendlies after you have grouped and identified with them. A colored arm band or different clothing skin would be great so fighting at night can still cause accidents and chaos.

I think this is a great idea. to have yourself tag as a teammate so other teammates can see. I don't think that this is something that everyone can see, but at least your teammates.

I am ok with this but groups/friends would have to be "met" in that life first.

By that I mean: if you die and respawn, you can't see them as friends anymore. You have to interact at first.

I approve of this idea.

I'm sure it is possible to get this working in Arma 2.
