Playing at night is awesome. I run around cherno or Elektro throwing flares everywhere waiting for someone to come try to kill me. If I find a gun that's cool but I prefer an ax and a pack full of flares.

Because of DayZ I went to my local AAA office, got a few maps, and planned routes out of town ... just in case :)
