Magotchi 74 Posted August 26, 2012 (edited) I'm the lead admin of US 303.People often quote http://dayzmod.com/f...rs/#entry446536 as proof that you can't ban for hacked weapons, but all that says is that you won't get a global ban for hacked weapons.My opinion is that having hacked weapons in the server ruins the experience for everyone, and users of hacked gear are just as bad a hackers because they have equipment that gives them an advantage over what the game normally offers. Also, hackers could simply spawn in all their hacked gear in an empty server, then bring it over en masse to a populated server they don't want to be banned from.If you promise to quit using hacked gear in the server, I'll unban you, but only once.Also, you'll always get a faster response if you visit our forums at http://clansm.net , as I only peruse through this section every couple days. That1neguy 5 Posted August 29, 2012 That depends on how good you are at keeping hackers out of the server, If I can play there and not get killed by an obvious hacker I wont bring hacked guns onto your server. Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted August 29, 2012 The admin has acted correctly in my opinion. No admin can guarantee that you won't fall victim to hackers. You shouldn't use that as an excuse to use hacked weapons. You should also be grateful that your playing on a server with an active admin who wants to run a clean server. Magotchi 74 Posted August 29, 2012 Thanks, Fraggle.That1neguy: I do my best to keep up with the current best practices in reducing hacking on the server, but much like most other servers, when it's full at 50/50, it's nearly impossible to stop entirely. Again, if you'd like to be unbanned, I will, as long as you agree to quit using invalid (hacked) gear in the server. I'll also need your in-game name you used at the time of the ban, or your GUID. But I do not think that radio can ruin someone a game. I picked up the radio from dead man and wanted to go on the Green Mountain and check distress radio transmissions only. Hackers can change peoples load outs also, I've had my gun change on me multiple times from a hacker. Newer players will be clueless on the legit / hacked in guns. Magotchi 74 Posted August 30, 2012 (edited) I accordingly didn't waste any time unbanning, and if it becomes a problem, I'll add ItemRadio, TruckHorn, TruckHorn2, CarHorn, and BikeHorn to my whitelist, but so far, a large majority of people with these items already have other hacked gear in their inventory.
