MattTheMont 46 Posted August 25, 2012 Tips;1] Always assume someone is around you, caution is your friend, use it. 2] If you are in the forest don't assume you can sprint your ass off like there's a bear behind you. You will be spotted.3] Have a good supply of Food and Water/ Soda on you, The less you have to go to town for that stuff the better you are, and the more time you have for scavenging for cooler stuff.4] Have fun! This is a game, just enjoy your experiences here in DayZ, if you play it your way, and without cheating or hacking, you will come back after every death ready to start again!5] If you're playing in a group, fan out so a single grenade won't delete all your hours of work. Ipurgepeople 106 Posted August 25, 2012 Meaning, when moving from Point A to Point B, if you have the option of crossing a field to get there in 3 minutes, or taking 10 minutes and going a more roundabout route in the woods...take the longer route and your chances of survival are much higher. BroskiMcBroham 7 Posted August 25, 2012 Tip, when in a car at night, and you dont have NVGs, and you have to drive through a town dodging burned out cars and roadblocks, no matter what your instincts tell you, TURN ON THE DAMN LIGHTS.Hitting a roadblock at 82 KPH is a horrible way to die. But after a while I found that "serpentine" running across them was just as good. Even when you are shot at, they always miss. I tried it after trying to kill someone who was in an open field and I missed every shot and he got to the treeline and logged. Its actually really hard to hit someone doing this and I find its just as good as avoiding the field altogether. Avoiding fields is very time consuming. I know I can be killed by a hacker at any moment so I'm not going to waste 10 minutes skirting a field when I can run across it in 30 seconds.
