Dead Body Artifacting SOLVED

I am reposting Combos solution to dead body artifacting here, along with the thread he created in the troubleshooting forum to garner more attention. I take no credit, and we are simply looking for official mod/Dev team comments on this fix.

Faund somwhere dont remember where.

1. Download pbo viewer.

2. Make a backup @DayZ folder.

3. open dayz.pbo witch pbo viewer.

4. delete 3 files in folder objects called dead_soldier_0.p3d, dead_soldier_1.p3d, dead_soldier_template.p3d

5. copy 3 times file called proxy_man.p3d and rename this like up (dead_soldier_1 and etc.)

6. delete dayz.pbo

7. pack togheter edited pbo file to @dayz/addons

8. play the game without artifacts

Important: make backup copy @dayz, some servers can kick u for that so u doing this for yours responsibility. I think the best way to fix this is make dayz1.7.2.6 without Dead soldiers body in military areas. Small sugestion for Rocket ;p. And sorry for my english i know is bad ;) let me know that is work for u. Peace! ;)

I recommend CPBO instead of PBO Viewer, as I couldn't figure the latter out.

I can 100% confirm this works, however most servers kick for modified PBO files, and for me that occurs every ~10-20 minutes of gameplay. Any official comments on this fix would be greatly appreciated!

I don't have any artifacts anymore. I'm not sure if it's because I updated my BIOS (for another issue) but since then, no artifacts.

I have the latest ARMA 2 version and DAYZ version per DayZcommander. My MOBO is a ASUS Crosshair Formula V with a ATI 6950 video card, 16gb ram, Windows 7, @ 1650x1080.

I have an I7 920 Nehalem, ASROCK SUPERCOMPUTER mobo, XFX ATI 6970 2GB, Win 7 64-bit, 6 GB RAM, and same resolution, and I artifact HORRIBLY around dead bodies, and this solution solved it. I believe this could be an official fix, but the Devs would have to implement a new checksum for servers to look for, as modifying the PBOs results in non-approved checksums, which results in kicks... at least that is my understanding based on the other thread. Honestly, this fix takes 5 minutes to do on the user end, and saves hours of troubleshooting to figure out what is causing the artifacting for each client, as everyone seems to have a slightly different cause, but the same problem. It doesn't fix the barbed wire, but barbed wire doesn't cause nearly as much artifacting as the bodies do on my end.
